Hi folks. I am starting a new series on Sundays dedicated to ice cream. If you'd like to join me feel free. Just post an ice cream recipe on Sunday. If you'd like send me the link to the post and I'll forward people your way.
I am a day late posting this. This whole edema and hubby not getting paid weekend has me off kilter a bit. Not my usual timely self. I still need to post for the daring kitchen challenge I am late on as well. So instead of starting meatless mondays today I will have to start that next week. I really need to get this challenge completed as it's my first and I am not pleased I don't have it done yet. So not like me. And hubs work still is making excuses so now I am getting involved and calling the head office. He is fuming but he is not good at crisis control. He is either too easy on them or too hard. So still no moolah. I could scream, but instead I made ice cream. *see what I just did there, aren't I clever, don't ya just wanna hug me for my brilliance, and modesty as well*
Okay so ice cream, ice cream, we all scream for ice cream. Here ya go. Have at it folks! Enjoy!
Simple Chocolate Ice Cream:
Source-Cuisinart recipe booklet
Ingredients:
¾ cup (175 ml) cocoa powder, sifted
½ cup (125 ml) sugar
â…“ cup (75 ml) dark brown sugar, firmly packed
Pinch of salt
1 cup (250 ml) whole milk
2 cups (500ml) heavy cream, us Canucks use whipping cream as heavy is not sold here
½ teaspoon (7ml) vanilla
Directions:
In a bowl or stand mixer whisk together the cocoa, sugars and salt.
Add the whole milk and whisk or turn on low if using a machine. Beat until combined and sugar is dissolved.
Stir in heavy cream and vanilla. I usually mix for about 1 to 2 minutes more.
Cover and stick in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours, or even overnight.
Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker bowl.
*MAKE SURE THE BOWL IS FROZEN BEFORE USING IT*
Turn on ice cream maker and let mix for 15 to 20 minutes.
Serve right away or stick in freezer for later.
Keep in mind if using later you should take it out 10 to 15 minutes before you want to serve it.
Serve with a smile!
Can I just say I almost died when I saw the smudge, I hate smudges you don't notice until after you take the pic. But then I looked closely and it is shaped like a heart and I just smiled. I keep looking at it and grinning. So cute. How cool that happened when I was feeling cranky. I am not cheered up and I am sure it was the heart and not the bowl of ice cream I devoured after taking the pic. I mean I had to....it was melting. Someone had to put it out of it's misery right!
Okay so before I sign off can I just ask if any of you are this crazy about your baking supplies being tidy?
Toodles and smoochies! xx
Photos missing due to a G+ incident. They will be replace soon.Â

The bomb. My daughter requested it as she was horrified that the first three flavours I made were not her faves. So this is for Kiana. My mini-lunatic.

That looks amazing! Did everything get straightened out with hubby's pay? I hope so! I have to say that my baking cabinet is NOT that neat...but I wish it was!

YUMMY! I love ice cream. My grandpa used to make me and my cousins ice cream when we were younger.

Yummo! We tried the "ice cream in a bag" trick today. Turned out good, but really soft.
