LUNATIC’S PICK FOR OUTSTANDING CHRISTMAS RECIPE 2011:
This just has to go to A Culinary Journey with Chef Dennis. His students made the most incredible Gingerbread Tree House which he posted on his blog. These kids were so creative they blew me away. Please take the time to go over and check it out. I am a total sucker for gingerbread houses. I was sick at Christmas so this was the first year we did not do ours. Made me super sad! I cried a gingerbread river, and moped on gumdrop lane till the sugarplum fairies made me dance in the sugar forest with the lollipop guild. What, what, that can’t be right???
LUNATIC’S PICK FOR OUTSTANDING RECIPE THIS WEEK:
Okay I’ll start by saying this is an old post on this blog but it’s the first I’ve seen of it and it made me pass out….on the floor….needed smelling salts….came to…looked at it again…passed out again…this went on for hours! I used to buy these cookies called oreo dream puffs. Then the brilliant minds at the cookie factory decided I did not need them any more and stopped making them. I have sulked for years. I am not even sure if they stopped making them. But they don’t sell them here any more. So I continue to sulk. Then I saw these. And passed out. Repeatedly. Tartelette’s Mallows! You will not believe your eyes. And you will probably pass out. So have someone ready to catch you. Just sayin’!
LUNATIC’S LOVING THIS “NEW TO ME” BLOG:
Yes you guessed it. Tartelette! In a big, bad, “I want to go to one of her retreats and pretend to not be a stalker” way. I have her book Plate to Pixel and am in the midst of reading it. For some reason it was not registering with me to check her blog. You know, blonde moments happen from time to time. I saw a picture of hers on Pinterest, and then another, and then another. That’s when the stalking began. In a big, bad way. I am now obsessed with the blog. She cooks such amazing food. And she likes pistachios. Marry me Helene. You had me at pistachio! Now if I could just win the lottery so I can come take one of your classes I’d be a happy girl. *crosses fingers, waits for money to fall from the sky*
IMPORTANT READING FOR ALL FOOD BLOGGERS:
La Phemme Phoodie wrote an article called Recipe Attribution: The Debate Rages On. It’s a fantastic read and I encourage all of you to take the time to look it over. I think many of us starting out do not know the rules. I know when I started I had no clue what etiquette to follow when blogging. This piece lays it all out for you in an easy to follow post. Please take a moment to head over to her site and read it. You will be glad you did.
LUNATIC’S COMING SOON TEASER:
Fruity Nutty Cookies
Fabulous Fun with Jars
Easy Slow Cooker Recipe
Ice Cream- no machine required for this ice cream dessert!
and…..
A HUGE SURPRISE for you this week!
IN OTHER NEWS:
I was touched by something a fellow blogger wrote about me on her site. I was blown away by her generosity and kind words. I do not think of myself as an inspiration to anyone. I am just doing what I love to do and having a blast doing it. This hit me that what I do here impacts others. That what I write here has weight, how I interact and socialize with my readers and fellow bloggers means something. I think this is the first time it really hit me that I belong here in this crazy foodie world and am a welcome addition to it. So to Mellissa of I breathe…I’m Hungry, I say thank your from the bottom of my heart for making as much of an impact on my life as I did on yours. I am ever grateful. And so this does not end all sappy and freak out my readers…. Mellissa rocks, and she’s smoking hot, and cooks like a total vixen! Now get your butts off the couch and go cook her food. Now gosh darn dang it!
What, I was gonna say stuff. Really! Okay folks that wraps up this massive edition of Lunatic Loves These Links. Hope you enjoyed it. I felt the need to do some Christmas ones I had missed out on doing while I was sick. Now you have no excuse not to be prepared next year. Unless you get the plague. Like I did this year. Seriously, it can happen. You’ve been warned. Wear a mask when you go out, make sure you bring wet wipes to wipe down grocery carts, and avoid handling money without spraying it with lysol first. And the day you do all this please send me the video of it so I can post it on youtube.
Toodles and smoochies! xx

So glad to see the love links posts back, I enjoy them so much. I see that you and I have bookmarked a few of the same recipes…I knew I liked you, but your good taste confirms it. Congratulations on winning a those fun things. I always thought I was cursed by the Never Win Anything Fairy until I started blogging.
LOL…chuckle..snort..smiling lunatic like
I sure have missed these posts Kim! You are an amazing & inspirational blogger! Love all the wonderful sites you share with your readers, there are so many out there, it's hard sometimes to focus…especially for a newbie like me. I appreciate your guidance & trust your judgement (kind of scarey at times…j/k) but seriously, you so amaze me with your ability to make your readers deliriously happy, educated, and coming back for more
I'm learning so much from you, thank you for sharing your journey with your readers!
Great post..love many of those bloggers and you are amazing and your recipes getting better and better every time I visit!

Wow Kim, don't think I've ever been called "smokin' hot" by another blogger before! I'm not gonna lie, I kinda liked it! haha! Thank you so much for your kind words – seriously, it really means a lot to me! I love your lists and you were so right about Country Cleaver! I followed your link back and she's awesome! I'm following her now thanks to you! Keep the lists coming, I love them even when I'm not on them!
XOXO
Kim all the food looks wonderful
This post was a good read. What great items you have recently won lucky girl. I really do need to delve deeper into some of these links and sites you have posted here. Thanks for pulling this together!
This is a first "Lunatic Loves These Links" for me and I know I will be coming back for next ones. Great read, lots of laugh!
Have a great day!
Hi folks. I am reading this, just wicked busy today. But just wanted to pop on to say I am so sorry I forgot to post the links I added onto the "friends" page. Been a rough couple of days here so my mind is just not clear. It's all fixed up now. Will reply to everyone shortly. Much love. xx
Wow, you've been busy! I love the Hasselbacks–one of those great old-school recipes due for a revival!
Thanks for the link Kim! You are the best – I looove your links. So much to read.
Wow you are one heck of a writer nice kudo's for all and roundup!
Holy cow, I am nearly overwhelmed I don't know where to start! I just need to keep up. Cherry cheesecake (YUM!), eclairs (OMG) and candy bark?! Expletives come to mind for that since we are out of bark here and I naw on a piece every now and then to tame the sugar demons in my tummy!
Lol Kristen. We are foodie soul mates. I am not normally a lucky gal but I won these two things and a flip camera I have yet to use in the summer. I wish I could win a good camera. *sigh*
Aw, thank you so much. I do tend to tell it like it is sometimes. The best advice I can give is follow what you love. I don't hunt so I generally don't read blogs where they're tons of wild game. Not that I don't read them, but I wouldn't be a regular. Same with seafood, I abhor it so I may not find that appealing. Also follow big and small. I follow tons of the newer blogs, and tons of the big guns. None of us have time to read them all so you just have to find the ones that speak to you. I love finding new ones to read. The foodie world is so interesting. Such an amazing group of people. I am so glad you like coming here. I really have fun with the blog and I sure hope it reflects in my writing.
Thank you so much Sandra. I am trying so hard to take better photos. There's definitely a learning curve to blogging. And aw, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are so sweet.xx
You are so welcome Ramona. I love your site.
I was hoping that would make you giggle. Lol! Isn't CC awesome, she is going to take the foodie world by storm I am sure of it. I am so thankful you wrote the last line cuz all of a sudden it occurred to me I didn't actually go to my friends page and add people this time for some reason. Think the post took so long to write that I just wanted to go to bed. So I headed over today and updated it. Thank goodness you jarred my memory.
Thank you so much!
Thanks Tina. These ones are a bit labor intensive with all the links and having to go to the blog and not the foodbuzz links. But it's worth the effort. I love doing this every week.
Oh cool. Normally I do them every week. The last month of life drama has taken a toll on my blogging. Hopefully life is mellowing now.
Aren't they the coolest. I just think they are so cute.
You are so welcome Dara. I adore you!
Aw thanks Claudia. It is a bit of work but they sure are fun to do.
Lol, just keep in mind this is a months worth of stuff. I don't normally go this overboard. Lol! I love me some sugar.
Ahhhh, I got a some Lunatic Love
makes my day. Thank you! You are so sweet. The blog world is lucky to have you.
Kim, everything looks terrific! Thanks for featuring the biscotti and the PINK pickled eggs! I get a chuckle every time! I always love when you do this feature – and it gave me some new people to meet! Thanks and have a GREAT weekend, girlfriend!
I wasn't hungry…then I looked at all of these pictures. Now I need to go find myself a dessert.
Wow, this is quite a post, Kim!! Thanks so much for featuring my gingerbread dip!! Gonna go check out some of these new blogs you have introduced us too!
I love reading Tartelette! I'm so glad you discovered it!
You know I adore you my friend. And your food. Aw, shucks, thanks.xx
You are so welcome. That biscotti was incredible. And the eggs were pink, you are a shoe in if you post pink food. It's freaking pink.
Lol, hope dessert was good.xx
You are so welcome Stephanie. It was wicked good.
I am so happy I found it. It is really incredible. I am trying one of her recipes this week. Now if I could just take pictures half as good as hers.
