Welcome to the new site!

Hi Lunatic readers!!!

How the heck are you all???

I missed you all so much!!!

Did you miss me too???

So welcome one and all to my new fancy shmancy wordpress site. I am so happy to be here, up and running again. There are a few more tweaks and changes coming so please be patient while we finish up some fine tuning.

There are lots of new things to read. Go peek around the tabs and have a see. The recipe index is going to take about 2 weeks to a month to backtrack through and input all the links again. They all need to be updated with the links to the new site. So imagine a year’s worth of recipes that need to be linked and labelled one by one. Yup, it’ll be a project. But a worthwhile one. I really like the one on the old blog so I shall devote the time to do it again. Just for you, cuz I love you all so ย much.

There ย is a policies page now as well as an advertising page. That is necessary as you will see later this week. More announcements to come. I like to keep you on your toes folks. No lollygagging around the asylum. Gotta keep things jumping.

You will also see a print recipe feature now. Again this has to be backtracked individually and will take a week or so to finish up. Such a cool thing to have though and I think you all will really love this feature.

There’s still some buttons and bling that need to be added. So expect some more things to pop up here and there. For the most part it is finished. Just a couple more things that must wait till the right time. Cryptic I know. I am really excited to share more with you in the coming days.

For now if you see any glaring errors please feel free to let me know. If the site goes wonky please be patient and don’t run off scared. It may need tweaking as we see how things run and what works well and what does not.

I would like to take a minute to thank a very special lady who helped me make the move and has been indispensable throughout this process. Her name is Kita and she blogs at Pass The Sushi. She also has a design site called Silhouette Graphic. I encourage you to check out both her blog and her design site. If you are thinking about making the move from blogger to wordpress she’s your gal. If you are thinking of a site redesign she’s your gal. If you want to work with someone reliable and professional she is your gal. I could not have done this by myself. Kita is an angel, she really saved me from losing my mind. Moving sites is very stressful, she made it easy. There were moments of panic but she held my hand like the small child that I am when I get stressed out. So thank you Kita, it’s been a pleasure to work with you, and get to know you better. I look forward to more projects with you as time goes on. You rock my world!

I’d also like to take this time to thank you all for reading. I am grateful for all of you who come back day in and day out. You make me feel normal and that is no small feat trust me. I have so many loyal readers and I appreciate each of you. You take time out of your day to stop by and read, comment and make me feel like I have something worthwhile to add to the foodie community. It means the world to me. You mean the world to me.

Now comes the fun part, with the move comes the need to have you subscribe all over again. Please proceed in an orderly fashion to the rss feed button to the right or the email subscription bar on your right. Don’t panic, there’s room for everyone. No shoving there in the back. I see you trying to cut in line. I suppose it’s ย not such bad timing with google friend connect going bye bye. I sure hope you all continue to follow the adventures of this crazy old lunatic and her love of food. I know I sure enjoy sharing my recipes and daily stories with you.

Toodles and smoochies. xx

Thanks Kristen. It will be a bit more cutesy after the conference. I did a quick redo for now till we learn more about that stuff. Kita is amazing. She made the transition easy. I think Kita is very modest. Dennis suggested her and I am so glad he did. I don’t think I could have done the move myself.

Thank you so much. She did an amazing job. I am not a tech gal so she held my hand through all the panic attacks and stupid questions I had. Bigger makeover to come after the conference. I need a logo. Lol!

Thanks so much Jill. I have been in love with this theme since I first saw it on TomKat studio. So had to get it and tweak my own version. It’s just funky enough for me. Lol!

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks so much. I still have lots of tweaking to do to get the recipes all printable but I’m getting there slowly. Kita is a goddess. Happy Tuesday!

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks Jackie. I want something subdued but then went for broke and got a little crazy! Lol! Kita did amazing, I will be using her again for certain.

    • Kim Bee says

Aw, thanks Joanne. Me and Ann were gabbing last night and I must say I was drooling like crazy over your header. Pistachios are my fave thing in the entire world. I must eat some every single day.

Guess I’ve been under the same rock as Kristen. Great job, Kita! And the site is so YOU, Kim, all this fun colors! Gonna poke around some … don’t mind me …

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks so much Ping. I am so happy Dennis suggested her. She is so good at what she does. I really intended to go all soft pastels but I just loved the bright so much. I think it suits the blog more. Not sure if I’ll tone it done in the next redesign phase or keep it a bit wild. Poke away. I still need to get the recipe index updated and hopefully by the end of this week or next the entire recipe index will be revamped as well. I should have done this eons ago.

WooHoo! Lookin’ good! Until you told me, I had no idea about Kita, either! How cool is she? You KNOW I’m subscribing! The site looks fantastic and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Thanks so much Ann. She is the coolest. And so talented and kind and PATIENT. Lol! You are the sweetest. We may not be related but you are my sistah. Love you oodles and bunches. Thanks for all the support through this. It meant a lot to me. xx

Wow! Gorgeous gorgeous site, Kim! I saw what an awesome job Kita did on Chef Dennis’ site, and so it is no surprise that yours looks awesome too! Love the colors and design :) Look forward to all that’s in store for us in your new ‘home’! :) Yay! :)

Hi Marsha. I actually think Fine Lime Designs did Chef Dennis’s site. But he was the one who mentioned Kita designed to me, and I jumped all over it. I knew she would be awesome considering how gorgeous her site is. I am so excited to have a little more zing here. It’s feeling like home now. Thanks so much for the support. xx

KIM, congratulations! Love the colours and bright, fun feel, it’s perfect for you! Love the printable feature too – we recently added it and I still haven’t gotten around to fixing all the old recipes, blech ๐Ÿ˜› I’d rather cook something new ๐Ÿ˜‰ But totally worth it in the end!

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks so much Anna. I am so happy with the way it turned out and the move. I know the print recipe thing will pay off in the end but I’m with you, I’d rather cook something. I have to redo the whole index as well. It’ll all be worth it in the end. Luckily I have oodles of free time right. *falls down laughing*

Love it, Kim! The new site looks great. I thought changing the look of my blog was like getting a new outfit. Now to click around and see all the great stuff you have going on!

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks so much Alyssa. It really is like getting a new outfit. I feel so refreshed and lightened up. Lol. Feel free to click away.

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks so much. I am really pleased with how it looks. At some point I’d like to cutesy it up more. Some graphics and a logo. But this is perfect for my budget right now. Kita really saved me on this one. She is a total goddess.

Wow Kim!!!! My jaw just dropped when I landed on your page. Am I on the right blog??? (I thought to myself). It looks absolutely phenomenal. It’s so much work to switch over your whole blog – congrats!!

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks Katherine. It is a fun color scheme. Hopefully not too hard on the eyes. It’s going to take a couple more weeks of work to get everything running the way I want. I will be so glad to have all the recipes printable.

The site looks great! Btw if you were with feed burner on blogger you can just update the feed address and keep all your old subscribers. :).

Thanks so much Holly. It is going to be a week or two before I finish up all the recipe stuff but will make it so much easier for my readers so totally worth it.

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks so much Becca. I am slowly figuring things out. It’a bit harder to use than blogger. Right back at ya girl. xx

Your new site looks wonderful–and thanks for the advice! I have been contemplating a redesign myself and am excited to hear that you’ve found a good designer.

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks so much.I am telling you I wish I had done it eons ago. The longer you wait the more work seems involved. Also print recipe buttons are useful to start from the get go and index. This will be my second time doing an index for almost a years worth of recipes. *bangs head off wall* lol

    • Kim Bee says

My suggestion is the earlier the better. The longer you wait the more there is to do. A ton of it is easy import stuff but things like indexes and print buttons need to be done one by one. My other suggestion would be shut down for a week. That way there is no stress and you have lots of time to finish up. When I do the larger redo I’ll schedule time off so we aren’t rushed. This one was a wild ride as I needed it down as short a time as possible. Not the way to go. Lol!

And thanks. I love this theme. I should have done this so long ago. Feels more me.

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks so much Jen. Kita worked her butt off. So happy with things. Thanks for your advice too. Means a lot to me. xx

I love the new site! It looks soooooo incredible! Congratulations and best wishes over at wordpress. I signed up with email to make sure I still get your posts!

    • Kim Bee says

Thanks so much Meghan. I am so happy with the theme. WordPress is a bit confounding but I am certain I will get the hang of it. I love bling. There will be more at some point. It’s not cute enough quite yet. Needs a little somethin’ somethin’.

Kim I’m a little late to the comments but I love the new site design and reading all the new content! Loved reading about your pets especially – we have 2 apple head siamese cats – a blue and a brown and it sounds like they have similar personalities to yours. How can an animal be so evil and so loveable at the same time??? One of life’s great mysteries! Your new design fits your fun & quirky personality – looking forward to more great content in the coming months!

Loving the new site, twin!! Sorry I didn’t stop by earlier to check it out (and let you know about that hole in the wall over there…no, there…yeah, that one…) but I’ve been sick. It looks amazing, my friend :-)
