Hi folks. I sure hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. It is so cold here in Ontario right now. We've had a wind storm whipping around. A bit of snow today too. Can someone remind Mother Nature spring should be coming soon. I am waiting. Patiently. Or moving. Whatever comes first.
So today I had some baking I wanted to get done. Have a gazillion projects on the go. So what does one do when they are already really busy? Well if you are me you add another recipe into the mix just for fun. Cuz you know, I'm not busy enough right now. *insert sarcasm here* I could not help myself though. On a bit of a brownie craze lately. I realized I really don't have a ton of brownie recipes on here. I mean I feel like I found the perfect one when I happened on The Best Brownies In The World. So they are really the only ones I ever make. This weekend I thought I would expand my brownie horizons. I made a couple different ones to test my theory about The Best Brownies In The World. I hate to be the bearer of bad news (or good depending on your outlook) but those other ones really are The Best Brownies In The World. I made two others tonight, I've made a gazillion over my lifetime and I have to say those other beauties are my faves, and I declare them The Best Brownies In The World. Well until I find another one I like better. It's a tough quest but I am up to the challenge. So I apologize to Kraft Canada for this but the ones I made tonight from one of their booklets I got about 10 years ago and use to make all the time are maybe the in the top 10, I'd rank this about 6th or 7th in the world. Maybe 8th. They are great but they're no Best Brownies In The World. Sorry Kraft.
Oh and sorry to the readers who are now sitting there shaking their heads as to why I posted these if they aren't really the best in the world. Sorry folks but when I started this blog I promised full disclosure. The good, the bad and the ugly. These are good brownies but are the best brownies you'll ever have? Not sure about that. I would say no. But that won't stop me from eating the entire pan. I mean a great brownie is a great brownie. Am I right!? Plus everyone has different taste in brownies. Me I like ooey gooey fudgey brownies. This is definitely ooey and gooey and sorta fudgey. With the marshmallows and chocolate over it ranks as doubly ooey and gooey. So try them out and see what you think. Two oven mitts up? One oven mitt up? Two oven mitts down? I'll let you be the judge. In the meantime I have more brownies to eat, er, I mean make. I mean someone has to test all the brownies in the world out to find the very best one right. *rubs her belly*
Ingredients
- 4 squares unsweetened chocolate chopped
- ¾ cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups coloured mini marshmallows
- ¾ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- Optional- 1 cup nuts chopped (I did not use nuts in mine)
Instructions
- In a glass bowl melt squares of chocolate and butter for about 2-3 minutes. Stir until completely melted.
- Add 3 eggs and beat until they are well blended.
- Now stir in your sugar and flour (nuts if you are using them as well) and mix well.
- Spread into an 8 inch square pan (I lined mine with parchment to make it easier to remove).
- Tap on counter a couple times.
- Place in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 25 to 30 minutes.
- Remove and top with marshmallows and chocolate chips. Stick back in the oven for about 5 or so minutes.
- Remove and let cool.
- Cut up into squares and serve with a smile.

Seriously, so good. Perfect, well no. But I am on the hunt for perfection. So rest assured folks, I will find it. Like Daniel Day Lewis says in The Last of the Mohicans:
I will find you,
No matter what occurs,
No matter how far,
No matter how long,
I will find you!
Toodles and smoochies! xx

I haven't made brownies for a long time. Did you say super easy? 🙂 It will be too dangerous when I make this - totally out of control. Hehe. I still remember when I first tried rocky road...(we don't have it in Japan). Oh yum!!
Kim Bee
So easy. You gotta try them. The other Best Brownies In The World are easy too. You gotta try those too.
Medeja
Looks yummy! And so sweet and tempting.
Kim Bee
Thanks so much.

Those look like trouble when swimsuit season is coming soon! I've been trying to cut back on sweets, but now I am totally craving this. Oh, and you haven't felt wind until your walking outside in a sandstorm! I got a big mouthful of sand while walking to my car a few days ago. Not fun!
Kim Bee
Oh ugh, that is not fun. I would not like to eat sand. Yuck.
Lauren
Seriously??? All those words put together sounds like my dream! YUMMM great job. loved the colored marshmallow topping! Buzzed you!
Kim Bee

You MUST email me when you find the perfect brownie! I have a ton posted but until I do a side by side comparison, I can't declare one a winner. These look darn good...I'd be eating them up even at #6 🙂
PS...i wish I had some warm weather to send your way but it's freezing here, too!
Kim Bee
I really think those best brownies in the world on the blog are the best in the world. So good. I have never had one that compares.

These DO look ooey gooey delicious! I love brownies and must confess one of my faves is from the Costco box mix from Ghirardelli (can hardly believe I'm admitting this...) - it's cheaper than making my own, turns out perfectly fudgy and crackle-topped every time, and I can add whatever I want to take them over the top! Every time I ask people for their brownie recipe thinking "THIS is the one!" they pull out that stinkin' box 😛
torviewtoronto
this looks cool deliciously done

Oh Kim, tsk tsk tsk. There you go and ruin a perfectly amazing brownie with marshmallows. Tut tut, really. 😉 I'd just scratch that off and feast, haha.
Miss your comments everywhere! *hugs*

With those colored marshmallows this could be an Easter treat or Spring celebration treat, too.

I love rocky road anything, especially brownies! They may not be "the best," but they sure look delicious to me!
Cucina49
Oh, those look deliciously gooey--I can tell from how the marshmallows look! I would love these.
