I make raspberry pinwheels and fig pinwheels. I use the same old recipes that my grandmother got from a magazine at the beauty parlor back in the 1960s. That was back in the day when ladies went to the beauty parlor once a week to have their hair washed and set, and they sat under the martian-looking metal helmet hair dryers, sharing gossip and recipes. My nana put together a treasured booklet containing the recipes she borrowed or stole over the years….most of which came via the beauty parlor. Each year I pull out her book, smile, and start cracking eggs.

  54. 54

What’s not to love in these cookies? I loved a yummy filling… and you got that here in spades. :)

  55. 55

My favorite cookie to bake during the holidays are peanut butter blossoms. I can remember making them with both my mother and grandmother growing up. My middle daughter is severely allergic to peanut butter though so these days I use a peanut butter substitute and it’s close enough ;) Thanks for such an AWESOME week of cookies and giveaways!
