Lunatic Loves | November Edition

November was fabulous. Looking forward to a fun-filled December!

November Recap from Cravings of a Lunatic

November comes to a close, and December looms. I am not a big fan of the cold weather that comes with December. I love being a Canuck, but I need to be honest here, I hate winter. I feel like I was born in the wrong place. Somehow I think I was misplaced from Hawaii. Life man, it’s just not fair some days.

The one good thing about cold weather is cold weather food. I tend to do a ton of roasting and braising. I adore anything I can cook low and slow this time of the year. It does double duty, I get to eat comfort food and warm up my house at the same time. Win-win.

We’re almost done the living room/kitchen revamp. The wall is down and the mudding/sanding/dust from hell is almost over. We’ll be painting by the beginning of the week, and by “we” I mean “hubs”. I hate painting. Give me a sledgehammer, sandblaster, or nail gun and I’m a happy girl. But painting is for sissies. And by “sissies” I mean “husbands”. I just do not have the patience or (and let’s be brutally honest here) the attention span for painting. It bores me to tears, and by “tears’ I mean “naps”.

I’ll be happy when it’s done. I am so sick of the mess. It’s horrible, there’s stuff everywhere. I hate chaos. Plus I want to put up our Christmas Tree soon. I can’t do that until the room is done. And the dust settles.

I’m trying to get caught up on work and also get a little ahead of the game. My son, B-Dude will be home on the 16th for 10 days. I’m excited to see him, and would like to spend as much time with him as possible. So my goal is to get enough work done in the next two weeks that I won’t have to work much while B-Dude is here. Cross fingers I can get motivated to get that much work done in such a short amount of time.

I did accomplish a ton of work in November. All my broken links are fixed. For those who don’t know what that means broken links are links to other sites that are no longer working. So if you, as a reader, were to click them they would not take you where they should. I had almost 3000, I don’t even know how I had that many. They are all fixed now. It took a ton of time but I got them done.

The recipe index is also fully functional now. You can click on it to take you to a visual recipe index. Click on any category and it will show you all the recipes in that particular category. Then you just click the photo you like and it will take you to the recipe. Pretty nifty. So click any recipe you want. Click to your heart’s content.

Lotta good stuff! I can imagine you’ll be happy when the rehab is done. We’ve done a lot of painting , and I agree it’s boring stuff. Who’d want to paint if you could play with a nail gun? You’ve probably said and I’ve missed it, but how did you happen to end up with 3000 broken links? I guess I’m wondering because I never go looking for broken links – I test every link when I post, but never go back afterwards to check they’re all still working. Sounds like I might be missing the boat on something. Anyway, have a great time with B-Dude. Good post – thanks.

Oh my gosh, no lie right. I walk into the kitchen right now and just want to cry. I don’t function well in messy, chaotic spaces. I like things in their place.
