Ziplist - How to Use it for Saving Recipes, Meal Planning and Making Grocery Lists

Hey my peeps!

I’ve got a little somethin’ somethin’ to share with you today. After procrastinating like a boss I finally got off my duff and got Ziplist features added to the blog. Yeah for me, score for you.

So you might be wondering what this means. So I put my thinking cap on so I could try to articulate it to you without using the word dude or other slang terms. I think I’ve already swung and missed. My bad.

Moving on.

So, dudes, you must check out these snazzy new features on ze olde blog. I teamed up with Ziplist to make YOUR life easier. Because I’m a giver. A slow giver, but a giver none-the-less.

You might be asking yourself, well Miss Thang, how the heck does this work. Okay, so it’s goes a little something like this.

So Ziplist is a personalized recipe box. You can save recipes from Cravings of a Lunatic, and also other food blogs too. Spread the love around, people. There are lots of cool blogs out there.

So below is what the recipe box looks like on my site. That’s my header. The blue arrows are pointing to my recipe box so you can see it really well!

Cool right ! Okay so moving on, below is how you can save a recipe from Cravings of a Lunatic. It’s super easy, just click the Save Recipe button.

Next up you’ll see this screen below. You’ve added the recipe but there are other options available to you. I’ll explain, I pinkie swear!

Okay so from here you can do a couple of fun things. Food= Fun. That’s why I love my job so much. Okay, let’s get on with this man, times a wasting.

Ziplist, Add to List adds ingredients to your Shopping List

Now you’re wondering what magical unicorn button I pressed to achieve this little grocery list miracle right? Simple, just hit the Add To List icon, mine is highlighted because I love to be all “super instructive” and stuff. This cool feature gives me a snazzy list of ingredients which I will inevitably leave on my kitchen table when I head to the store. Seriously people, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.

Ziplist, how to make a shopping list

This is so cool I had to show you a close up. I mean seriously right. Magical unicorn, indeed. Ziplist rocks convenience. And let’s face it, who amongst us couldn’t use some help. I love this shopping list feature way too much.

Moving on to more fabulous features. This next one allows you to menu plan. Can I get a whoop whoop? Heck yeah I can.

Ziplist Menu Planning

Do you need a moment? Some tissues perhaps?

I know right. This is life changing. I am not much of a planner but this may just change my wayward, bad self. With Ziplist’s help I’ll be Martha in no time. Minus the online dating and love of horrid food photos.

So one more wicked cool feature I want to show you. This one allows you to tag recipes. I tagged this under Easy Desserts, and No Bake. Just scroll down the left side to where it says Tag and type in whatever you like. Easy peasy right!

Ziplist, How to Tag Recipes

Now to wrap up this informative, and fancy highbrow tutorial, here’s one last shot to show you what my recipe box looks like with my cheesecake saved to it.

Ta-da! That’s it. Now I can peruse and save more recipes and make shopping lists to my heart’s content.

Now if I could just figure out a way to remember to put them in my purse before I run off to the grocery store.

Ah-ha, Ziplist has an App for my phone. Now there’s using your noggin. My life is forever changed.

Thank you Ziplist!

Are you still scratching your head, dude? Swing on by Ziplist for their handy-dandy explanation of what Ziplist is all about. Just in case I lost you somewhere in the rabbit hole that is my brain.

Now make sure you add the App on your family’s phones too. That way when you send them on errands for you they can access the list too. I see many shenanigans in my future with this app. I’ll make a list for hubs and when he says something wasn’t on the list I can add it to my ziplist and use it as evidence to prove him wrong. Even though I forgot and added it after the fact. He’ll never suspect a thing. I mean it’s not like he reads my blog. Er, maybe I can hide this post from him. Just in case.

Okay so now that I’ve rocked your world, go forth and Ziplist all my recipes. You know you wanna!

It really is. I’ve used their recipe thing for about a year and a half. Shows what a slacker I am getting organized. I should have gotten my ducks in a row eons ago.

A lot of people seem to really like Ziplist, and I understand it has some great SEO features. Me? I’m still in the prehistoric age, www-wise, so I haven’t thought about it. I should, though — that phone feature is nifty (although I do have the Our Groceries app on our phones). Congrats on getting Ziplist!

Thanks John. There are two great ones out there. They are plugins and super easy to use. If you ever want more info let me know. I’ve used both. They are equally fabulous.
