This Brownie Batter Smoothie is so simple to make. Your kids will love this one. If you share it with them. That's a mighty big if once you taste this!
I love it when a plan comes together. I love that plan even more if it involves chocolate. This plan happened to involve chocolate brownie mix. I don't know about you, but any day that involves spooning chocolate brownie batter into smoothies is a good day in my book.
Silk asked me to write a post about smoothies. I dig their products so I was super excited to tackle this project. My intention was to post a super healthy smoothie for my readers.
Then my daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled. My daughter is much like me, she tends to eat like a dude. So having oral surgery has not done her any favours. She's a tiny little thing so she can't afford to lose weight. That's where these come in.
When smoothie making day came around I decided a more indulgent recipe would be better for her. I asked her what she wanted and she quickly requested chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate.
So this brownie batter smoothie idea was born out her desire for chocolate and my desire to keep some meat on her tiny little bones. She got her chocolate fix, I made off with the second glass, Â and we were happy little campers the rest of the day.
I promise I'll post a fruit inspired smoothie soon to make up for it. I can't promise I won't toss chocolate in with the fruit.

Brownie Batter Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 cups Silk Almond
- 4 teaspoons of dry brownie batter mix
- Optional: ½ to 1 teaspoon of almond extract or chocolate extract
Instructions
- Combine ingredients in a blender and pulse for 30 seconds. Then turn it all the way up and let the magic happen. I suggest letting it mix for about 2 minutes to make sure the brownie mix breaks up really well. You want the mixture to be smooth as Silk!
- Pour into glasses.
- Serve with a big old Silk Smoothie loving smile!
Notes
I hope you get to try out this Silk Smoothie recipe. I had a blast making it and mini-me had a blast drinking it.
Not going to lie the photos with the tiny mason jar shot glasses were a riot to take. We cut up straws to fit them. Then we all drank our Silk Smoothies out of the tiny shot glasses with tiny straws. I felt like a giant. I may, or may not, have acted like a giant for the rest of the day.
Another idea for these drinks is to add some alcohol if you're throwing a shindig. Making a spiked smoothie bar would be incredible. You should totally do that. Like right now. Then invite me over. All I ask is you cut some straws so we can drink them like giants.
