Killer Spicy Pizza Dough

I LOVE AND MISS YOU GUYS! XX Hi folks. Ya, ya, I know. Where the heck have I been right. I'd like to tell you I've been sailing around the world or laying on a beach in Hawaii drinking fruity drinks with umbrellas served by hot pool boys. Yet that would be such a lie. I mean those are fantasies not reality folks. Reality bites. Seriously...they even made a movie about it once. … [Read more...]

Bread and Farm Fresh Fridays- Yes I realize it’s saturday!

Hey folks. I'm here with a quick bread maker recipe. Did not turn out quite as light and airy as the one the day before but hey, who cares, it's fresh bread. I experimented as I often do. So the result was quite lovely. It's funny that I don't eat bread very often but I sure make and buy a ton of it. The rest of the crew like it so I have to keep them happy. Otherwise it`s anarchy. I am doing a weekly post entitled "farm fresh friday". This week was a bit of a bust. I have been swamped with … [Read more...]

Herb and Shallot Bread (bread maker used)

Hi folks. Well I am still feeling horrible. I would love to know how someone who`s never had allergies all of a sudden is an allergic mess. Still no appointment with the specialist. Gotta love the Ontario health care system. Working hard for their money, oh wait, no they`re not. I cannot believe how long it takes to get in to see a doctor when something is wrong. When I was sick with colon issues it took 6 months to see the specialist and another 3 to get an appointment for tests. Honestly I was … [Read more...]

Bolognese and Garlic Knots – this is the best meal we’ve had all year!

Okay so I tried a new recipe. I found a bolognese recipe in my "williams sonoma pasta cookbook" that looked really yummy. Have been wanting to try it for quite a while. This one is a winner. It's really time consuming but so worth it. This one will definitely get made once a month or so. I may tweak a few things now that I've tried the original. Adding shallots would be a must for me. Some garlic. I already added sugar to mine. The knots I saw on a show called "cooking for real". They looked … [Read more...]

Croissants (bread maker)

My first time making these was a challenge to say the least. They are a tad complicated. It's very important to follow all the steps and read through the directions properly. I learned this as I did not read through them very well. Needless to say we had croissants the next day.I learned that you need to take your time with these. I also learned I used too much flour to prevent sticking. Quite possibly a bit of over-rolling as well. I will make these again as I like to perfect things. Generally … [Read more...]

I cooked, I baked, I need some sleep

Hey bloggers. Did a little cooking today amidst all the kitten fun. He seems to be adjusting as much as can be expected. When I can tear myself away from him I actually get things done. But with that cute little face who can help wanting to play with him all day. We left him alone for the first time today to go to the barn. Put him in the bedroom so he can jungle gym his way to sleepy time. He seemed perfectly fine when we returned. Hopefully another week or two and he can be left out with the … [Read more...]
