The idea behind this Food Bloggers Unplugged is for the reader to get to know us on a more personal level. I am sure with some blogs you may not feel like you get to know the person writing it. I fear with mine you get to know me a little too well. I do not seem to have an edit button on my life or my writing. It just spills out. Some people struggle to write, but for me on most days it just flows out without hesitation. I am not sure if that is bad or good. Once I start typing I rarely pause, I rarely stop, I rarely think. I just write and it comes flying out faster than I can type some days. I am not sure if it's so many years of being an at home Mom and feeling like I have so much to say, or if its lack of socialization from being cooped up with the IBS frequently. Whatever it is I feel blessed and lucky it comes to me in a tidal wave most days. Now the funny does not always come easily. I have to be in the mood for the funny stuff. There is the odd time my writing style leans to a more serious note. Then I struggle a bit as I am never sure whether you, the reader wants to hear the more serious stuff. Usually I wait a day till the funny comes back. Occasionally it wanders off. Maybe I wear it out. Maybe it tires of my bad grammar.Okay so here it is folks, all laid out for you. You want to get to know me better, well hang on to your hats. You may regret it and run screaming in fear. Or stop reading. Yikes. Don't stop reading. Just pretend I'm normal. Or become a Lunatic like me. It's great fun. Okay you sure you're ready?
The Lunatic....Unplugged:
What or who inspired you to start your blog?
My red Betty Crocker's Cookbook. It's my second copy. I am a total mess in the kitchen. It is the standby when I am unsure how to do something.
The best thing you have eaten in another country, where was it and what was it?
Dee at Deelicious Sweets
Well, now I have the Sesame Street song in my head, visions of your lopsided toe, and a need for a Wolfe stove with red knobs. LOL! This was a fun read. It's always fun getting to know more about you!
Kim Bee
I had to unleash the song on someone else. It was driving me nuts. I am a weirdo, lots of stories like this unfortunately. My life is never dull.
Ann
Congratulations on your award - it's well deserved and you are too amazing for words! Toodles and smooches right back!
Kim Bee
Aw! *blushes*
Kristen
Oy! What a horrible toe story. I mean story about your toe. So glad you still have ten. Could we put that on a greeting card? I should really end this comment now. Love ya!
Kim Bee
I'd say more 9 and a half. But it's cool. Makes me unique. I would love if they made a greeting card for that. "Sorry you almost lost your big toe in the window incident but really, it could have been your whole foot so there's that." Love ya right back.
Anna
I always laugh when I visit your blog but feel intimidated to comment - you are one of my super star bloggers! Aaanywas, congratulations on your award!
Kim Bee
Really? Well now my head is going to get all big and my ego out of control. Lol. I am so touched you like my blog, that is such high praise. Just remember we're all in this together though. I still feel like a total newbie most days. Never feel intimidated. I am an open book in a room with an open door. I have no idea how that makes sense but it does. I love when people comment. Feel free to gab away here, on fb, twitter. I promise I am as friendly as they come. I do not feel like a superstar at all. Although I really love that movie. Makes me howl with laughter. Thanks for being so sweet.
Sylvie @ Gourmande in the Kitchen
So fun to learn about you, and I agree a Wolf stove would be very very nice!
Kim Bee
Thanks. I love to share. I know right, those stoves are the bomb. I must have one.
Alyssa
I love that you still managed to throw the party that day! I'm such a wuss I probably would have canceled. Great to know a little more about you!
Kim Bee
I'm sure the pain meds helped. I somehow pulled off a party for 40 and wedding for over 200 the following week. All while limping with a huge bandage on my toe. Lol!
Ramona
Congratulations on your award!! Well done!! Love the interview. I always love reading more and more about you. 🙂 Yikes about your big toe!!
Kim Bee
I really thought my toe was a goner. Luckily it's still there. Me and windows do not get along.
Kiri W.
Holy cow - 200 people???
Also, black forest cheesecake. Oooh. Dreamy!.
Kim Bee
Lol, birthday party was roughly 40 or 50. I think the wedding was about 250 or slightly more. Hubs comes from a big French family. We used to entertain big time. Not so much any more. We actually had cherry cheesecake for our wedding cake. Anything cherry and cheesecakey is the bomb in my world. I need to make that black forest one for the blog. I never have for some reason. I believe it hits May 7th. I have a sentimental post planned with it. Bring tissues.

Congratulations on your award! You have a knack for making people smile. As for the honeymoon, I would be worried about sharks, swimming around with a bloody toe in Hawaii!!! But that's just me....I was traumatized by "Jaws" in 1976!
Kim Bee
Oh that's a whole different story. We did go scuba diving. There was blood but not from my toe. Luckily I'm still here. Lol!
Christine
Congrats on your award!
Kim Bee
Thank you!

Thank you so much! xx
Emily @ Life on Food
That was such a long story at the end and I loved every little piece of it. Keeping the smiling face tells you that you are a GREAT woman. I wish Le Creuset was in pink too.
Kim Bee
Lol, sadly my life is full of stories like this. We should all band together and write Le Creuset a letter. I mean seriously what's up with the lack of pink!!
mellissa @ ibreatheimhungry
Great post and it's great to hear more of your stories! I'm a Viking girl myself but I wouldn't say no to a Wolfe either! I cringed when I read your toe story - I once shoveled my big toe almost in half lengthwise with a shovel when I was digging in the garden with my teva sandals on. Husband still gets on my case about it because I still garden with sandals on, and he's waiting for the day when I lop that sucker right off! 🙂 For the record, I'd have been swimming too! It's amazing to me that you've only been doing this for a year - I can't wait to see what you come up with in the coming months and years! Turtle pizza? If anybody can do it, you can! ha ha!
Kim Bee
I am lucky enough to have a dual fuel stove but it's the standard size which burns me up. I'd love the huge versions Viking and Wolfe offer up. I have had some interesting window experiences. I'll have to share the others with you some time. Oh my your poor thing, it's painful to almost lop off a toe. I once bent over in my garden and got a stake in the eye. I still shake my head how silly that was and feel lucky to have my sight. Oh turtle pizza. Yum!

Congrats, a most well deserved recognition! Love your attitude about guilty food pleasures... good food is to be enjoyed and frankly, we probably do more damage to ourselves feeling guilty about that piece of cheesecake we ate than anything the cheesecake can do. Eat well and be happy, right?
Kim Bee
Thanks so much. Hope you guys are doing well and not too overworked.
Marsha @ The Harried Cook
Loved reading about you, Kim! This is a lovely post 🙂 I especially liked the bit about guilty pleasures - and about not allowing food to have power over us! Lovely post! 🙂
And so glad you still have your big toe! 🙂
Kim Bee
Thanks so much. I say life is short so eat good food. I am pretty happy to have my toe as well. Was a weird experience.
