These are fabulous little rolls you can make the dough for in your bread maker. I’ve not made them in quite awhile. They are really good and easy to make. Light and fluffy, very good warm with dinner.
1 2/3 cups water
2 tablespoons powdered or real milk (real always better)
2 tablespoons shortening
2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2 tsp salt
4 1/3 cups of white flour
1 1/2 tsp bread machine yeast
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon water
Put ingredients in pan in order. Place in bread machine. Select the dough setting and start.
Once the machine is done (mine takes about 2 hours) take the dough out and put it in a bowl to let rise. This should take about 30 minutes. You want it to double in size. You can also break them into balls and let rise on baking sheets if you want. It should yield about 12 – 18 pieces. Once they have risen you brush them lightly with the glaze. Stick them in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes.
These are really delish served warm with butter. Personally I like real butter on them. I don’t eat bread often so when I do it’s nice to really do it right. Hope you enjoy! xx
