Homemade Stain Remover!  This is a little trick I learned over 20 years ago, works like a charm for getting stains out of clothes. Plus it is wicked inexpensive. Ditch the brand names you pay big bucks for and try this instead.

Homemade Stain Remover for Real Housemoms by Cravings of a Lunatic | This is a little trick I learned over 20 years ago, works like a charm for getting stains out of clothes. Plus it's wicked inexpensive. Ditch the brand names you pay big bucks for and try this instead.

Hey peeps. So my regular readers are scratching their heads right now. You're saying, very loudly I might add, where the H E double hockey sticks is the food.

It's okay, I'm still a food blog. So let's just slow your roll for a minute. It's all good in the hood.

I was trying out a new niche recently. It's a long story, so let's start at the beginning. You might want to grab a coffee and sit down. It's okay, I can wait.

    You good?

Okay. So this summer I had pondered writing about my projects I take on at home. I'm a notorious home reno lover. I love DIY and renovation. We basically tore our whole house apart when we bought it 7 years ago. We redid the entire main floor, and even made changes to siding, and landscaping. Anything I can do myself I'm going to do.

So I thought it would be fun to start documenting stuff. Then an opportunity presented itself to contribute to Real Housemoms. I decided to try my hand at her cleaning and organization niche.

I learned that while I love doing those projects that I don't love photographing them. It slows up the process, sucks the fun out of the process and I just wasn't digging it. I have a very dark house, I love dark colours and that's hard to photograph in. So trying to photograph a closet makeover in a dark room with bad lighting and not even room to get far enough back to get the shot was becoming problematic.

I quickly learned I like my niche. I like writing about food. So I talked to Aubrey and moving forward I will be one of her monthly Food Contributors. *Sigh of relief* Thanks Miss Aubrey.

Now I can keep doing home projects but there's no pressure to photograph them if I don't want to,

That's not to say I won't share some before and after photos of various projects with you. And I may share the occasional cool kitchen project here. We'll see how things go. I have a ton of projects on the go, and some of them are wicked cool ideas. So some may show up on the blog from time to time.

So basically I'm announcing I am now a contributor to Real Housemoms. Today you can find this cool trick to make your own stain fighter over there. Moving forward from October I'll be sharing one recipe a month on Aubrey's site. Very cool. She's a cool lady.

You should scoot over there today to learn how to make this homemade, super de duper cheap stain fighter. I learned this little trick over 20 years ago from my sister. It gets the stubborn stains out, and let's face it whether you have kids or you're a foodie, or maybe you're someone who spills a lot (puts her hand in the air like she just don't care) you NEED this trick. It will save your clothes. So really you could call it a Super Stain Fighter. And it's already wearing a cape.

So head over to Real Housemoms to learn how to make this super cool Homemade Stain fighter. Hurry. Go. Now.

Tomorrow I head off to Seattle for a conference. Going to be a ton of fun. I have some posts scheduled for when I'm gone. And Booze Week Part Deux kicks off on Sunday so yah for Booze.

Thanks for swinging by. Tomorrow we return to food. Glorious food. Which I will then drop all over my clothes and need to use this trick to get the stains out. My life is an endless sea of chaos and stains. But the food makes up for it.

    Toodles and smoochies! xx

Ah - funny you mentioned this, Kim. I've just finished a house renovation project we did this year - what a long haul. I thought about posting about it and did a first post about kitchen organisation (kitchen=food right?) Wrong. Flop. Although realised, who wants to see my cupboards anyway? I hear you about the lighting. Good for you! Great idea and LOVE this about stains. I'm useless at that and we all have these in the house, unfortunately. Thanks for the tips. x
