Katie is a root beer fanatic...and we haven't had root beer floats yet this summer! I think she needs hers in one of your adorable glasses...so pretty!!
Kim Beaulieu
I don't blame her. They are sort of amazing. I love floats, the reaction of the ice cream to the fizz makes me happy.
Erin @ The Spiffy Cookie
What an adorable glass for this!
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks Erin.
veronica gantley
Oh that Rootbeer float sure would hit the spot right now! Yum!
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks Veronica.
Kristen
I am in love with your ice cream bowls! My kids are constantly making root beer floats, whether authorized or not. If there is root beer in the fridge and vanilla ice cream in the freezer, I can count on at least one of my sons combining them. Once one has done it, the others invariably follow suit.
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks. I love floats. I made a new one today. Just need to edit the pics. So much fun to watch the fizz go wild.
Maureen | Orgasmic Chef
Can you believe we don't have root beer here? We have sarsaparilla which is pretty much the same thing but not really. 🙂 I'd love your root beer float. (it would be called a spider here and only for kids)
Kim Beaulieu
That's so monumentally wrong Maureen. I am so bummed to hear that. I wonder why they don't sell it there. I need to visit to try a spider. *words I thought I'd never say*
Kelli @ The Corner Kitchen
Root beer floats are completely underrated! I had one last month for the first time in years! They're amazing and need to had on a regular basis!
P.S. Those glasses are absolutely adorable!
Kim Beaulieu
I know right. I love them.
Thanks. I love prop shopping.
Ashley Bee (Quarter Life Crisis Cuisine)
1. I LOVE the cup for this.
2. Funny story--my roommate in college was the daughter of the ice cream king of New England. No joke, this guy helped Ben and Jerry get their start, and even is the first person to popularize mixing candy and cookies into ice cream. Anyway, we're in our college dining hall and I see my roommate looking lost at the ice cream corner. She looks at me, helplessly, and says "so... how DO you make an ice cream float?" I laughed, of all people, SHE should know this.
Just a silly little story 🙂
Kim Beaulieu
It's cute right.
Omg that is a hilarious story. I love it.
Angie | Big Bear's Wife
Looks good and oh so easy! Love the ice cream cone glass too!
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks Angie. I love a good float, and cute props.
john@kitchenriffs
I love root beer floats! When I was a kid we called them black cows. Other people call them brown cows. And everyone calls them good. 😉
Kim Beaulieu
That's so cool. I've never heard them called that. Super cute.
Cathy Pollak ~ Noble Pig
Could you pass that over so I could have a sip?
Kim Beaulieu
Absolutely. I'll pass you a big one.
Amy @ What Jew Wanna Eat
Those photos are too beautiful! I wonder if I could make this with real beer. Hmmmm
Kim Beaulieu
I bet you could. Try it and let me know how it goes.
Susan
Floats are so much fun for the sizzle factor alone. I love watching it bubble up!
Kim Beaulieu
I know right. I did a new one today. I can't wait to edit the pics. So adorable.
The Ninja Baker
Will you please teach me how to infuse so much joie de vivre into everything you do?
Seriously, I am a fan of root beer floats but an even bigger Kim Bee fan!
Kim Beaulieu
Ha, thanks. I love that.
You are too sweet Kim. Thanks, I needed that today.
Jen @JuanitasCocina
Yeah...I need TONS more ice cream in my float. My ice ream to root beer ratio is wonky...because I only need a splash of soda. So, basically I use the root beer like a syrup. 😀
Kim Beaulieu
Ha, I usually am like that too but it didn't look good in photos. Why do we put so much importance on the visual? I swear it's a curse.
Emily @ Life on Food
I haven't had a root beer float in FOREVER. what a great treat! And I love your cup!
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks Emily. I love old classics. Cuz I'm old. But not very classic. Ha.
Abbe@This is How I Cook
I love root beer floats. And you can use sugar free root beer so that way you are allowed two root beer floats.
Kim Beaulieu
I like the way you think woman.
Dionne Baldwin
It's a good thing I have self control! Ok, I'm kidding I don't. Root beer floats are one of those things that I claim not to like. But when I am with one, I can't help but enjoy the sweetness of the root beer and the rich, creamy ice cream. And then I want another one.
Thank you for sharing this treat with us!
Kim Beaulieu
Ha, me either. Who could hold back with these things.
I made a new version today, I just need to edit pics. It was the bomb.
Kate | Food Babbles
I loooove root beer floats! Honestly, they remind me of growing up because my grandmother would take my brother and I to this hotdog joint and always got us root beer floats with them. Yum!
Kim Beaulieu
Me too. It's such a throwback to childhood.
Ramona W
This float is calling my hubby's name... it's a childhood favorite. 🙂
Kim Beaulieu
Me too. We used to get that a drive up restaurant. So good.
