Weekly Meal Plan Recipes Week 19 - 10 great bloggers bringing you a full week of recipes including dinner, sides dishes, drinks, and desserts!
Welcome to Week 19 of our weekly meal plan. A huge shout out to the gals who put this together every week. They do an amazing job with the graphics and putting everything in order.
I hope these meal plans are helping my readers plan their menus and grocery shopping each week. I find when I plan ahead there's far less leftovers and waste. Which is always a good thing.
My menu plan is set out for an entire month. I use post it notes so I can move things around when needed. Being a blogger we tend to have to make quick swaps on short notice.
Also I find when you have kids things tend to come up at the last minute too. One of the hooligans will come home and through a monkey wrench into the plans for the day.
I've learned to just roll with things rather than getting too rigid about dinner plans. If something comes up I just shuffle my plans around and roll with it. It's easier than letting it drive me nuts.
Quite frankly as your kids get older you start to miss those last minute changes. I think when you have older kids you start to appreciate the little things that used to drive you crazy.
Don't get me wrong, I still get annoyed when something gets changed at the last minute. But I've also learned there's no fighting life in motion. Don't waste your energy.
Now that my kids are older I'm still super busy but I think I'm less irritable. Little things that used to bug the heck out of me are the things I miss when they're not around.
I know right. When you have little ones it's hard to imagine all those little things that come up that drive you crazy will be the things you miss one day. But it's actually true.
I guess with age comes mellowness. Or appreciation for the little things. Or you just get so worn out you stop giving a crap about the little things that used to bug you.
Whatever the reasoning I have to say I dig it. It's nice to just be with the hooligans and not feel like everything in life is a lesson or "teachable moment".
Now I can just enjoy those moments with them and be so grateful I have them to annoy the crap out of me some days. I guess getting old means you become all sentimental and soft.
Or I'm just missing my kids right now. My son lives in Calgary and we only see him a few times a year. It's just not enough for me. I can't wait till he moves to Toronto in the spring.
This weekend my daughter is away for a training exercise. She's in the military so she goes away on occasion. When she left this morning I got all choked up. I like having her around.
So this mom is feeling super grateful and reflective this weekend. Which leads to chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate.

I've got my eye on the panini and the roll cake!
Kim Beaulieu
I can't blame you, I'm eyeing those too.

This is my kind of meal plan! I can't decide what I want to make first. I am definitely pinning for later 🙂
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks so much Lauren. I appreciate the pinning.

What a great week of inspiration! That turkey pho is something I will make with the leftover turkey coming up and a nice glass of your pretty and pink punch will be something I will need at the end of this crazy week. Oh, and save me some fudge, please!:)
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks so much Lora. I'll save you one of everything. xx

You always make me so hungry with your meal plans. This one looks exceptionally tasty, and I love that you've ended it with Joan's 3-minute fudge. Sweet!
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks so much Renee. I miss Joan. She was such a sweetheart.

I didn't know your daughter is in the military! I was about to say that that's not very cool that she had to go away a few days before Thanksgiving but you're Canadian right? It's still not very nice that she had to go away!
And I can't believe you have your meal plan a month in advance. I'm jealous. I do my meal planning in the morning. 😉
Love this week's meal plan! So many delicious options.

Kim I applaud your organization - heck I have trouble planning for my house and there's only two people in it - meal planning for the day is a stretch sometimes. Some great dishes - that peppermint bark needs to be made.
Kim Beaulieu
Ha, thanks girl. I struggle some days too.

I have definitely chilled a bit as I've gotten older...and as the kids have gotten older. Once again, I wish that somebody would just make this entire meal plan for me...everything looks so good!
Kim Beaulieu
I think age and lack of sleep does a lot for calming me down. I'm usually too tired to care. Ha.
I hear you. Some weeks are crazy and I wish I could hire some help.
Marjory @ Dinner-Mom
If I could have all things one week, it would be one fantastic week! That turkey tamale pie is perfect for the leftovers I'm planning to have!
Kim Beaulieu
Ha, I concur. That would be the perfect week. Thanks Marjory.

I swear that I want to chuck my weekly menu plan out the window whenever I read one of yours. Post it notes are genius! I still use pencil and paper when planning my menus, so by the third time that I have to erase and rearrange something, I pretty much abandon the plan entirely. I joke that with each kid, and as I get *ahem* older, I resolutely fall into the "so worn out you stop giving a crap about the little things that used to bug me" category. I think I need more punch in my life. Punch just makes me smile whenever I see it at a big gathering, and yet I never think to make it myself. Pomegranate sounds delightful!
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks so much Kirsten. That's high praise. I love making people want to chuck. Things. *smirks*
I swear my house is a mess, and nothing gets done any more. I used to be super mom. Now I'm super lazy. It's so weird. But I could give a rip about just about everything these days. It's so weird.
You have to try that punch. It's super yummy.
