- 4 pound pork roast
- ¾ cups brown sugar use less if watching your sugar intake
- ¾ to 1 cup chicken or veggie broth
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- ½ cup teriyaki sauce
- ½ to 1 cup of chopped pineapple I used 1 cup of fresh pineapple
- ½ cup pineapple sauce I used a brand called The Alps, Pineapple Ham Glaze. You can sub in pineapple juice. Even the juice from canned pineapple would be okay.
- 1 package of mini slider buns
Place your roast in the slow cooker.
In a bowl combine your brown sugar, broth and spice. Whisk it up and then pour it over the roast.
Turn slow cooker on low and cook for about 6 to 8 hours depending on your slow cooker. It's done when the meat pulls apart easily.
Now remove the roast and place on a cutting board. Take two forks and pull the roast apart. It should easily pull into small shredded pieces.
Toss the pork into a skillet and add the teriyaki sauce, pineapple, and pineapple sauce/juice to it. Cook over medium heat for about 3 to 5 minutes. The sauce should absorb the juices well.
Scoop the mixture over the slider buns. Toasting the buns first is a nice touch.
Serve with a big old I need a napkin smile!
