For the Toppings:
- ½ cup homemade or store bought caramel sauce
- ½ cup chopped pecans
- 4 ounces chocolate melted
In a bowl whisk the eggs, milk, cocoa powder and sugar till well combined.
Pour that into a shallow dish.
Dunk in your bread and allow each side to soak for about 2 minutes or so.
Get a frying pan or cast iron skillet hot and melt a little butter in it (1 to 2 tablespoons). Lay the bread in the pan and cook each side till golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
If you want to keep those warm slide them in the oven on a cookie sheet with a cooling rack on top, and keep oven around 200 degrees F.
Melt your chocolate now, just pop it in the microwave for 30 to 60 seconds, stirring often. (every 15 seconds is the way I do it)
Heat up your pre-made caramel.
Then, the chocolate.
Probably more caramel.
Then maybe more chocolate.
Then toss some pecans on.
Serve with a big old I Love Turtles smile!
