So I was suppose to do pasta, but I got side tracked. I side track easily these days. I realize this is not working for me. Need to get back to be an uber mom and spend less time obsessing over food. Live life, not watch it on TV. Don't panic folks, I am still going to post lots of recipes. And ramble endlessly. And visit you obsessively. Just going to try and ease off the amount of hours I spend doing it. It's summer for pete's sake. I need to get to the barn more and hang out with the horsey. Enjoy the garden. Be me, without being glued to the PC, TV or a cookbook. So toning down my laziness, and amping back up the energy level.
My daughter is going through some low energy as well. I am actually concerned. She has had some health issues in the past so it's hard not to go into panic mode. I am sure it's nothing but a little anemia. But to be safe we're going in to see the doctor. I think she's even concerned. I told her they'd be doing blood work which terrifies her, she has to lay down during it or she'll pass out. Learned that the hard way. Like I said she grew up with a serious but not life threatening illness and she had alot of blood work done, lots of tests, and lots of nurses lying to her about whether it would hurt. Kiana is an anomaly, if you tell her the truth she is fine. If you lie to protect her, she will flip. Nurses have learned this the hard way. So when I told her she had to have blood work she said okay without hesitation. Well, she must be sick. She would never agree to that if she was in her right state of body and mind. She is tired all the time. Hopefully we figure it out. It's very unlike her to be low energy. I'll keep you posted. Sure it's something minor.
So tonight I made some sloppy joes. I made them super spicy. If you don't like things spicy then dial back the ingredients if you make this. I cannot stress enough THIS IS SUPER SPICY! Please dial it back if you can't handle hot and spicy. So enjoy! Don't hurt yourselves! Or your loved ones. Well, except those loved ones who pull stuff off kabobs. Those dudes should not be warned how hot these are. Karma baby! Lol!
Call the Fire Department Sloppy Joes:
Ingredients:
1 ½ pounds of hamburger
2 cups any variety of bell peppers, diced or chopped in food processor (I used red, yellow, and orange)
2 cups onions, mix of varieties, diced or chopped in food processor (I used red and white)
2 shallots, diced or chopped in food processor
5 small cloves of garlic, pressed with a garlic press
Himalayan Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
½ teaspoon chili powder
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
½ cup bulls eye BBQ sauce
1 ½ cups tomato sauce (I used classico roasted garlic and onion)
1 dash of hot sauce
⅓ cup Parmesan cheese
Directions:
In a large saute pan, cook your onion, and shallots for about 5 minutes in some olive oil.
Now add your hamburger to same pan and cook over medium heat.
Once it's close to done toss in your peppers and continue to cook until hamburger and peppers are browning nicely. Juices should be running clear.
Add your spices, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, BBQ sauce and tomato sauce and cook for about 4 or 5 minutes over medium heat.
Add Parmesan cheese and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Spread over buns and serve with a smile.
Hope you enjoy. Make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy. Or at least some water or beer.
Toodles and smoochies my lovely readers. xx
Photos missing due to a G+ incident. Will be restored soon.

For some reason, when I hear Sloppy Joes I think you're talking about slippers/Ugg Boots!! Nope, you're talking about hamburgers. I like spicy & the boys are gradually getting used to more heat. I love this international food sharing thingo because you use lots of ingredients and names that have different equivalents in Australia. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
I was beginning to wonder whether you were glued to the computer with all this daily blogging. WE love it, but it must take a decent chunk out of your day to produce. 🙂 Thanks in appreciation from us. Speaking of which, your members/followers list has ballooned! Congrats and sorry I missed the 100 party. 🙂

wow, those sound delicious and look that way, too!

I'm the only sloppy joe eater in my household so I never make them. I need to bookmark this recipe for a special "mommy only" lunch. Yummy!

Great recipe! I know what you mean about low energy. Summer time always does that to me. I stepped it up yesterday and got my house clean again. I'm feeling partially normal with a clean house again! Now I need to tackle the basement and my "normalcy" will be in tact! Hope everything turns out well for your daughter! Positive thoughts are being sent her way 🙂
Mary
The "joes" sound really good; I'd definitely have to scale it down! All of my boys love spicy, but I just can't handle it! 😀
Hope all goes well with your daughter.
Following back, and looking forward to more good recipes!
Amy
I hope Little You is feeling better 🙁 Never fun feeling out of sorts.
I have never ever ever tried a Sloppy Joe! (and I only ever had American Chop Sooy for the first time 8 years ago). I am definitely going to try this recipe (minus any and all heat. seriously. my tongue can't even handle black pepper).

Dzoli- Great minds think alike!
Amy and Tiffanie- I love hearing that a recipe brings on childhood memories. The best compliment I can hear. Thanks!
Jen- Ya, you would not want to mix those two up. Would not be good. Glad the boys are getting used to spice. Kiana drives me nuts as her palate is just so bland and simple. It's hard to get her to try stuff. I know the readership has bloomed which is great. The first 3 or 4 months I did not market myself at all. I finally, thanks to Dee, got brave and put myself out there. Best thing I ever did!
Dee- Hey you! Okay so can you come clean my basement when you finish with yours? lol. Thanks, I am sure she is okay, I am thinking anemia perhaps.
Mary- Thanks and thanks. You should dial it back alot if spicy bothers you. I tend to go nuts with it.
Amy- Thanks, I am thinking anemia or goodness forbid mono. Our niece had it so who knows. She is just SO tired. Not good. You must try a sloppy joe. Before you invest this time though just buy one or get some manwich to be sure. Kiana hates them but we all like them.
Becky- Thank you!
Lucy- Thanks. Let me know if you try them.
Stefanie- Thanks so much.
Aarthi- Thank you. I will pop by tonight when I sit down to watch the tube. I tend to do all my visits at night.
