After a long absence I finally cook. Well if you can call this recipe cooking. It is super easy and one of our fave meals. It's nice to make when you're in a hurry but don't want to order out. The nice thing about it is you can do sections so everyone can get different toppings. If all 4 of us are home I usually use 2 baguettes. If it's only some of us then I just do 1 baguette. I have to say I was unhappy with the cheese on this one. Used a different brand and did not like the way it melted. I usually buy mine at Costco but didn't have time to make the trip into the city. So I sent my son up to the local grocery store and he picked up a brand I hadn't tried before. I honestly don't think I would use it again.I'll post the full pic second and you'll see what I mean about it melting weird.
Baguette Pizza:
Baguette (1 or 2 depending on family size)
Pizza Sauce (just use tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce and add a couple tablespoons sugar)
Pepperoni
Ham
Parmesan Cheese
Mozzarella Cheese
Optional- peppers, sausage, onions, bacon, veggies or any topping you like
Directions:
Cut the baguette in half and place both pieces cut side up on a cookie sheet. (easier clean up if you line it)
You can leave them whole or cut them into sections before you top them. Usually I leave the baguette whole but this time I cut it up.
Spread pizza sauce evenly over the baguette.
Place ham and pepperoni on baguette.
Sprinkle a very generous helping of Parmesan over the baguette.
Spread mozzarella cheese generously over the baguette.
Any toppings you may want on the top for crispness you can place now.(green pepper is nice on top)
Cook in a preheated 425 degree oven for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Cut into pieces if you haven't already and serve.
So another easy peasy recipe for you. Hope you like this one as much as we do. We tend to do it alot for weekend lunches. Although it was dinner last night. Sometimes I make it with home made fries. I've also made it on wider french bread but I like the way the baguette tastes better. The outside is crispy and the inside is soft. It's the perfect texture for pizza.
So today I am making a new peanut butter treat. Should be a good one. For dinner I think we're having Mexican night again. Trying out a couple new recipes. So definitely check back later for more recipes. Should post them about 10-12 hours from now.
Have a fabulous day folks. We're off to the mall I think, Kiana has a pay check burning a hole in her pocket. So she wants a cd I believe. Then hitting a movie, Soul Surfer. Looks like a great movie and always like the ones based on true stories. Then it's a hopefully that much needed trip to Costco. Then the barn to see the horsey. So needless to say it'll be a late din-din tonight. That seems to be the norm here. Cya all soon. Toodles.
Photos missing due to a G+ incident, will be restored soon.Â
