Okay, so you know I’m totally addicted to mini desserts at this point. It’s gotten really out of control. I wish I could care, but look at these things. They are so adorable that I doubt anyone could resist their charms.
I have an office I do all my blog work in. It’s basically a small spare bedroom that is now my blog room. I have an oak roll top desk in there, a nice comfy chair, bookcases, a curio cabinet and an old dresser that doubles as storage for props. I also have an armoire tucked in the closet for all my blog dishes and large props. I think there’s about 10,897 mason jars in there, and about 12, 934 mini shot glasses. The sad thing is I still want more. Clearly I have a problem.
My friend Katie asked me to guest post for her while she went on maternity leave. I am both thrilled and honoured she asked. I adore Katie, she’s a total sweetheart and wicked talented. She has a food blog called Katie’s Cucina that is just beautiful. She also has a DIY blog called Sew Woodsy that she collaborates on with her husband, Jon. Both blogs are absolutely incredible and great resources in their respective niche.

That tile in the background of the photo just above is the tile on the floor of my blog room. It’s a grey tile my daughter picked out. My blog room used to be her bedroom. She gave it to me when she realized my hobby had turned into a career. That room has a big patio door that leads out to the back deck. So the light is amazing in the room and it’s easy to step out and take photos outside as well. There is an awning that we can adjust for more or less light. It’s a pretty great spot for a photo studio. Small, but very practical.
Now the tile above is the actual tile in the rest of our house. It’s sort of green and natural earthy tone tile. It covers our entire main floor, except for the blog room. It is also the tile in our shower. I tiled it myself. Pretty cool little fun fact for you. We had a whooping 4 tiles left after we finished the most recent reno. Then hubs broke one so I’m down to 3. Wish me luck since this is my favourite, and wildly overused, backdrop for all my food photos.
