    Okay class, do I have your attention? Quiet down there in the back. I'm trying to teach you something fun here. Okay who stole the props? *runs off to grab her ruler*

    Now settle down people. You can all have a turn licking the jars I promise. You just have to wait your turn. Don't make me come back there missy? Put down that ja.....

    So if you guys were not already convinced I have too much time on my hands this should cinch it for you. If you were not already convinced I can take healthy food and make it unhealthy well, this wasn't healthy to begin with so I cannot be held responsible for this one. I can however take something already yummy and flip it on its head. It's what I do. Head flipping, it's a talent. They are adding it to the pageant list as we speak. Seriously, I made a call. I have people.

    So now that I have made sure you all know the Lunatic name is not in vain, we can continue our lesson. Please behave and pay attention or no jar licking for you!

    Today's lesson- how to take sugar and make it even more irresistible. Oh goody, this is going to be fun. Now pull up a chair and watch the magic happen.

    A Fun Experiment- Coloured Sugars!!!

    How to make coloured sugars for baking and rimming glasses.

    Ingredients

    • Sugar duh
    • Food colouring double duh

    Instructions

    • Mix them. (triple duh)
    Coloured Sugars

    What? Huh? Oh, that's not enough instructions for you? Okay people follow along now. Cop a squat. No fidgeting. I'm gonna tell ya little tale....

    Once upon a time there was a beautiful lady named Lunie who was an absolute genius as well as the prettiest, skinniest lady in all the land. She had magic fingers and could turn any food into something bad for you. Yes children, she's that good! Maybe one day they'll name a country after her, or a pony, or she'll get her own show on the food network. She's that awesome children. One day people will talk about her like...she's not actually crazy.

    Okay that's it. Who let the realist in here? No realists allowed. This is a fairy tale for goodness sake.

    We begin our story here, in a little blog room that time forgot....*fade away, soft pretty music playing as unicorns dance by*

    WE'LL BE HAVING A POP QUIZ NOW, YOU READY?

    Okay so I sure hope you enjoyed this one. There are about a thousand possibilities for this stuff. You can put it on the edge of just about anything. They'd be super fun on a cocktail for sure. If you're wondering why I didn't post any pics of that let me tell you a little something about your Lunatic. She does not drink. Like ever. Well, not never. I have had a drink before. But as a whole I don't drink. Last time I did was almost 5 years ago, I had half a glass of wine at my birthday celebration and was looped for the rest of the night. Low tolerance for it. I can't drink due to health reasons. Plus seriously if this is me sober can you imagine me looped??? Yah, I know right. Scary!

    Toodles and smoochies! xx

      You are too funny...I can only imagine you looped...LOL. First, I want to thank you for all your kindnesses...for stumbling my post, for visiting my new to foodbuzz friend, Desi, (she's trying to figure out the system and I know you understand how crazy that is!), and for being your sweet self!

      And now to your great post! These sugared rims are too fun...they'd be perfect on all sorts of cocktails and party drinks. The corn syrup around the rim is a wonderful hint~

      Hope you have a great weekend, Kim! xo

      I always thought that the wetness of the coloring would clump the sugar and then you could not sprinkle it! Based on that I bought powdered food coloring. Well thanks to your post I now know better--great info to have.

      Loved this post. I always wondered if people actually went out and bought different colored sugars - now I know - they make them!

      Brilliant! I always wondered exactly how to decorate the edges of a glass like this, and now I know. I think my favorite is the blue sugar… so pretty!

      I'm loving the yellow! It reminds me of buttercups and Easter chicks. I'm just imagining it sprinkled on Coco Pops, cool!!

      @Tori- Lol, I'm a postaholic some days. This was so much fun. Thanks so much for picking me. It's great when my insanity draws attention to me. Lol!

      @Lynds- Thanks so much!

      @Ping- Rofl, you kill me, in a good way.

      @isabelleathome- Thank you!

      @Kristen- I had no idea if it would work but I figured what the heck, you only live once. Lol!

      @Cookin' Cowgirl- Yes I am, and I am so stoked and so touched you pinned me. Let me know if you try this. It's super easy. You just have to break the clumps a bit if your store it for awhile.

      @Debbi- Lol, yah an apple. And thank you!

      @Joan- I am so glad you liked it. Make sure you let me know how yours turns out. Corn syrup rules. Love that stuff.

      @Adora's Box- I had a blast.And thanks.

      @Paper Plates and China- Aw, you are so sweet. I really appreciate it.

      @healthyfoodietravels- Thanks. I am planning on doing up a drink post with my fave non-alcohol drink soon.

      @mividaenundulce- You are too sweet. Thank you!

      @Katherine- Thanks!

      @Reem- Thank so much. Hope you try it out on a sexy night. Lol!

      @Jenn- Thank you!

      @kankana- Thanks so much!

      @Curry and Comfort- Lol, okay I'll believe it wasn't you. Thanks so much. This was tons of fun.

      @Lindsey- Thank you!

      @Lizzy- Aw, thanks. You are so welcome. I love to find new blogs and meet new people. You are too sweet. I used to use water but the sugar doesn't stick as well. Plus licking corn syrup and sugar is just doubly awesome. And yes, me looped is a very interesting thing. Lol!

      @Claudia- You are so sweet!

      @Erin- Thanks. I know right. Christmas and sugar are calling my name after this. Lol!

      @Stephanie- Thanks so much.

      @Jen- Thanks. And yup, cheaper always better. I am a total cheapskate these days.

      @Tina- It does clump a bit so you just smack the heck of it with a spoon. It breaks up perfectly. Sort of like brown sugar that's been around awhile. And just don't go wild with the colour. I hope you try this out. I'd be curious to see what you could do with it.

      @Sandra- Thanks so much my dear!

      @savoryandsavage- Yup, I just thought if it can be bought, it can be made. Used to do this all the time for virgin daiquiri's for the kids.

      @Grubarazzi- Ah, I wish I could but no alcohol for this chiquita. Docs orders. Sucks to be me. Lol!

      @Nicole- Thanks so much. I love the blue too but I think the yellow is my fave.

      @Torviewtoronto- Thank you so much!

      @Sandra- Aw, thanks so much my dear!xx

      @foodblogandthedog- Lol, that would be so good. I am very fond of the yellow too. The pic does not do it justice. It's so sparkly and shiny.

      @Mother Rimmy- Thank you so much. I cannot wait to show everyone what you can do with it for Christmas.
