I was thrilled to hear from a Canadian company called Aurora Importing recently. You all know I am a proud Canuck so when they contacted me I was pleased as punch. They are a family run Canadian company and carry some really impressive products.
The campaign running right now is called “How a Jar in Your Fridge Can Be Your Best Friend!” It shows you tips and ideas on how to make fast and delicious meals that will please your family. They also have a recipideo channel on youtube which shares useful tips and how to's to help you whip up some fabulous meals. Right now the video Nonna's Tips: How a Jar in Your Fridge Can Be Your Best Friend is available for your viewing pleasure. If you stop by the Recipedio Roundup 5 right away you can enter to win a massive 5 litre tin of Frantoi Cutrera Premium Quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Sicily. The olive oil from this company is to die for. I would suggest you rush right over to enter this giveaway as it ends July 30th at midnight. So hurry up folks. Run, swim, shake a tail feather, however you get over there do it NOW! I'd love to see one of my readers win this huge tin of awesomeness. But time is limited.
Aurora Importing sent me some samples to try out. I was already in love with many of their products before they contacted me, so it made sense to me to try some I had not purchased before. Their products are high quality and affordable. They are also Canadian which I love.
I tried out their Gluten-Free Bread Crumbs and made Roasted Cherry Tomatoes which were on the blog the other day. They taste amazing and the texture is quite fine which I personally like. They were mixed into the tomatoes and the crumbs are so fine that they just sort of seeped into the tomatoes to make it look like I stuffed them. Which I didn't and would love to take credit for but I'm just too darn honest for that.
I also used their Frantoi Cutrera Primo Extra Virgin Olive Oil on those Roasted Cherry Tomatoes. Let me just tell you a little something about this olive oil, and please don't think I'm crazy, but it smells incredible. I know right, who smells their olive oil? Well...I do. I love the smell of a great quality olive oil. I had never tried this one before and I have to be honest here folks, I've tried A LOT of olive oils in my day. This one is the best one I've come across so far. I've used it not only on the tomatoes but in a stir fry and pasta as well. I'm trying it in some dressing this week. I may cry my little eyes out when this bottle runs out. I may have to find a genie in a bottle and see if I can make one of my three wishes that this bottle never runs out. The never ending bottle of olive oil. If you get a chance to try it out please come back and let me know if you love it as much as I do. I also used it in the Taco Pretzels that were on the blog. I was going to use canola but this just cried out it needed to go on them. It was a perfect fit. So much so I also used it on the sPiCy NuTs the next day. Apparently this bottle is going to be empty very soon. I am addicted to using it on every single thing. I even pan fried hot dogs in it one day for lunch. I mean who does that? Seriously, it's like a sickness folks. Me and this olive oil are >likethis<.
I received their Italian Style Bread Crumbs as well. You will see those in an upcoming post with breaded chicken that will knock your socks off. These are really good quality bread crumbs and are made with Italian Romano Cheese which let's just say right now is super yummy. I like the texture of these bread crumbs so much. Perfect on chicken and would be great on fish or pork as well.
The last product they sent was a jar of La Bomba hot antipasto spread. This one confounded me a bit. I'm not an appetizer kind of gal. So I had to put my thinking cap on for this one. As you all know when I put my thinking cap on it automatically gives pizza as its first response. Ice cream is always second. Since I don't think antipasto spread ice cream would be a huge hit in most circles I went with antipasto pizza. It makes a great pizza topping, a nice way to add some pizazz to your plain cheese pizza. It jazzes the pizza up and makes it sing to your tastebuds. Which I am all for singing pizza that's jazzed up.
Antipasto Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 pizza dough divided
- 1½ cups of pizza sauce divided
- 2 cups of mozzarella cheese divided
- 1 jar of antipasto spread divided
- Pinch of Sweet Basil over top
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
- Spray two pizza pans with non stick spray.
- Divide your dough in half.
- Roll out or hand stretch your dough. It helps to add a little flour when working it.
- Lay the dough on the pans. Poke it a few times with a fork. Depending on your mood, you could pretend it’s someone you’re mad at.
- Spread the sauce evenly over top.
- Spread the cheese over top of that.
- Add your antipasto spread in clumps here and there. I also jazzed it up by pouring a touch of the juice from the jar over top of the pizza. Yummy!
- Sprinkle a bit of sweet basil over top.
- Pop it in your oven for about 10 to 12 minutes.
Notes
So again, I invite you all to rush over to Aurora Importing to enter their contest to win the monster size bottle of olive oil. You have until midnight July 30th to enter. You should also check out Aurora Importing's Facebook page. You will love this company and their products. I was lucky enough to get the four samples for free to review. But don't worry folks, you all know I would tell you the truth if I had not liked them. It's how I roll. So the obvious disclaimer warning reads "while I received these products for free the view expressed are my own, yadda yadda yadda." The products I received are pictured below.
This pizza is spicy folks so make sure you like spice before you whip it up. I loved it way too much. I may have eaten the whole pizza all by my lonesome and then laid on the couch in an antipasto pizza coma.
Look at that freaking cheese bubbling up. Who wouldn't want to be in an antipasto pizza coma when the pizza looks like this!!!
A huge thank you to Liana for working with me through a rather difficult time here at the Bee household. We've had some personal and health issues to contend with and she was very understanding through it. I cannot say enough about the integrity of this company. They impressed me on both a business and personal level. And that's not always easy to do.
Toodles and smoochies! xx
Kelsey @ K&K Test Kitchen
Oh my, I would also love a never ending bottle of delicious olive oil! And your pizzas always look like they came from a pizza place, so perfect and crispy with puffy crust! Yum!
Kim Bee
Right! I'm so glad I'm not the only one. A never-ending bottle would be fantastic.
Awe thanks. I love pizza, like way too much. So we get a lot of practice making it.
Jen @ Juanita's Cocina
I'm a little bit in love with this pizza. And I"m thinking that I may need to move to Canada. Do I have to speak french?
Kim Bee
Only a little?
You should!
Nope. I don't. Kids to though.

Thanks Valerie. I love making pizza way too much. We must eat it a few times a week.
Canuck through and through. We're in Ontario, not far from Point Pelee. We're driving out west in about a month. My son will be going to U of Calgary so we're bring him out there. Should be a fun road trip. Haven't made that one in about 8 or so years.
Jessica | Oh Cake
I usually try to say something more clever than "noms!" or "oh yum!" but what I really want to say is this, "that pizza looks so good I want to motorboat it." Which is kind of gross, but also not that effective at getting it in your tummy. LOL Looks luscious!
Kim Bee
I fell over on the couch when I read this. I can't stop laughing. Motorboat away.
Thanks for the belly laugh. And the compliment.
Debra
This looks way yummy!
Kim Bee

This is why we are such good friends...pizza and ice cream should be everyone's first two responses. Love what you did with the antipasto. Despite my whimpy palate, I would enjoy this, too. I am thinking I would have to settle for a loaded bowl of mashed potatoes with antipasto, but I totally dig the thought of pizza!!!
Ramona
I bet this pizza tasted divine. Antipasto spread...that's a new one for me. 🙂 It looks like a great package. 🙂
Anna
Pizza!! Love your antipasto version, Kim!
Ashley Bee (Quarter Life Crisis Cuisine)
I am not a run-of-the-mill pizza fan--mostly because it's harsh on my stomach--but, homemade pizza and original flavor combos usually do okay with me. I love this version, you really nailed some great flavors!
Nami | Just One Cookbook
Oh yes the picture of cheese that's bubbling up made me so hungry and we have still 2 hrs till lunch. Sounds like a very easy pizza especially with this antipasto spread. Nice!
Jenn and Seth (@HomeSkilletCook)

Kim, you totally have me craving every single one of their products. I'll take one of each, please 😉 And this pizza... Amazing! I'll take a slice of that, too.

Holy cow, this looks freakin' amazing! I'm especially in love with that last photo and all it's bubbly, fresh-from-the-oven glory. Delicious!
