    Peanut Butter Chocolate Chewies

Okay so this is a quickie post. Suppose to making din-din. I get side tracked way too easy. I was going to make granita until I realized I needed a food processor which I do not have. Think I need to get one ASAP.  So many recipes that require one or are made easier by one. Anyhow back to the recipe. This was a quick one. I have a headache and allergy issues today so I am grumpy and not in the mood to cook. Which is rare for me. Yet how many people can say they don't feel like cooking but still make cookies and meat ragu. Lol! I may skip the homemade noodles for now. Not sure I am up to the challenge today. Anyhow....geez I get side tracked alot. So here's the cookies. They are a take on my macaroon ones. I have no idea what the real name of them is. So I called them this:Peanut Butter Chocolate Chewies:Ingredients:

    2 cups sugar
    3 tablespoons cocoa
    ½ cup butter
    ½ cup milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    ¼ to ½ cup peanut butter (I used ½)
    3 cups quick oats

    Directions:

In a saucepan combine sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk.

Cook over medium heat and bring to a boil. Once boiling cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

    Remove from heat.

Add the peanut butter and mix.

Add the oats and vanilla and mix.

Drop on a cookie sheet sprayed with non stick spray or waxed paper/parchment.

    Let cool, then serve.

Photos missing due to a G+ incident. They will be replace soon.

Yum I used to make these all the time when I was a kid. We just called them no bake cookies 🙂 I think I'll make some of these tonight, they sound good!!

They are yummy! I make another version without peanut butter but add coconut. I call them coconut macaroons even though they aren't technically a macaroon. Hope you make some. So worth the 10 minutes they take to cook. Rofl!

They really do look like choccie versions of those yummy coconut macaroons one makes with egg whites and condensed milk, that puff up and go all golden and chewy.

I hope the allergies are a bit better today. I hate that itchy eyes, headachey feeling one gets from seasonal allergies!

Well if you're not feeling top notch, you certainly haven't lost your adorable sense of humour. Love the chewy choc peanut butter delights - they're bound to have you bouncing back in no time! Did you serve that as dindins? Perhaps not, otherwise it would be hubby with the headache 😉

Juanita- Thanks. Still feeling awful but holding off on allergy meds until they get me in to the specialist. Sneezing up a storm.lol

Care- Thanks. All food side tracks me. It's like a sickness.

Tina- Thanks. I powered through. Luckily they take about 10 minutes to make.

Jill- Aw, thanks. I was tempted to garnish with a mint and call it din-din. I made meat ragu aka spaghetti. Not as good as usual but luckily I only have one picky eater.

Nami- Thanks. I try. This is pretty much me on a daily basis. I drive my kids nuts with my silliness. But I have fun doing it. lol

Amy- me either! Actually kind of hate it. Except peanut butter fudge and cookies. No idea why. I cringe when people scoop it out of the jar and eat it.

Medifast Coupons- thanks! They are so good. I am a coupon gal myself. Canada post strike is apparently over as I got a zillion I'd been waiting on in the mail. Yeah, so excited! Love cheap and free stuff!!!

I am down to make 10 minute cookies! I like the idea of using coconut in here too. Maybe half and half would be awesome... Nice Kim!

At first I was sad, because I thought this was a Star Wars referenced food :p
However, I'm so glad I stopped in to take a look! This is better than what I had hoped for! Good recipe!

Cassie- I think most people call them that. I'm a rebel. Lol!

Lindselicious- I think if you search coconut macaroons they are under there. I did them eons ago. Not a true macaroon by any means. But it's what we've always called them. They are incredible. I eat spoonfuls while it's hot too. Cannot help myself.

Jeff- I could not stop laughing at your comment, it never occurred to me that it could be misleading. Now I'm all curious if there's such a thing as a chewie. I may have to play around with this idea in the fall when it's cool enough to bake again. Too funny!
