Grilled Rib Steak | Cravings of a Lunatic | Grilled to perfection, these rib steaks will make your mouth water and your heart sing. No lie!

Hi folks. We had one beautiful day last week so I decided to make the most of it and barbecue some steaks. So simple. These were thicker than I normally do. Quite often when I buy my steak at Costco I cut it in half as I find them too thick. This time I left them alone and slapped them on the grill nice and thick. Turned out wonderfully. Some days things just fall into place. Every pack of steak at Costco had 3 steaks in them, I don't know why but seems like they always package them in 3's. Well, there's 4 of us so either I have to buy 2 packages or someone is splitting theirs. And let's be honest folks, the Bee family does not share food. We so rarely eat steak that when we do we each want our own monster sized piece. Sad but true. Well call me a lucky duck that I found the only 4 pack in the joint. I snagged that sucker while a little old couple was waiting and watching and ready to pounce if I didn't take it. Yah, sorry there old couple, maybe you should of gotten up earlier. The early bird gets the worm, haven't you heard. The early bird also gets the perfect 4 pack thick cut rib steaks. That'll teach you for having that cup of joe before you left.

Okay, moving on. This was such a wonderful meal. I just made a quick packaged side dish as I didn't want to wait to eat. Okay, let's be honest here folks. Mini-me had to go to work and whined profusely that our late lunch was not going to be done on time. Omg she was gonna starve, and how dare I buy steak and not feed it to her. Honestly you'd think we never feed her or something. So for mini-me I rushed around and made steak with a processed side dish. But it was oh so good, so I can live with my decision. I made the Sidekicks Teriyaki Noodles. They are pretty darn good and in a pinch Sidekicks is my go to processed side dish. Now don't go getting all "wow does she work for Knorr", um, no I do not. I've never gotten any free stuff or reviewed anything to date on this blog nor do I have ads to date. So this is just me giving you some good old honest what I do in a pinch advice. So unbunch those panties and go buy some for when you run out of time. Or would rather live your life some days instead of being chained to your oven for hours. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy being chained to my stoves some days (holy crikey this just got weird, no I did not mean like THAT, geez folks, mind outta that gutter please) but there are days I just want to hang with the kids and eat steak and watch Gilmore Girls or Supernatural. And no I do not work for the company who makes those shows. Unbunch now.

Okay so run out and grab some steaks now. Make sure you grab an extra big and juicy one for moi. I like rib personally. I even like blade. But sirloin give me the willies. Just sayin'.

    Rib Steaks | Cravings of a Lunatic | #steak #grill #bbq #beef

    Simple Grilled Rib Steaks:

    Ingredients:

    Rib Steaks
Barbecue Sauce ( I used that one I bought at that olive oil and sauce bar in St. Jacob's, the brand is Ole Ray's Steak and Brisket Sauce, it's got some serious zing to it)
    Salt to taste

Olive Oil for brushing on the grill to prevent sticking

    Rib Steaks | Cravings of a Lunatic | #steak #grill #bbq #beef

    Directions:

Fire up your grill and get it super hot. Preheat it for a good 5 to 10 minutes like you would your oven.

Once it's super hot, brush on your olive oil.

Now while it's still scorching hot, toss on your steaks and sear for about 3 minutes on each side.

Now turn down your grill to a nice medium heat, close the lid and let each side cook for about 5 minutes more.

Sprinkle on some salt if you want at this point. If not it's quite fine without any.

Now here's my trick. Brush the sauce on and let it cook for about 1 minute, then flip it. This will make a huge mess but man it tastes so much better cooked into each and crisped up than just brushed on after the fact. Now let it cook for a minute or two depending on thickness, brush some on that side and flip again. Trust me, you'll thank me for this.

Now once it's nice and crispy and cooked to perfection, slide them off the grill and let stand for about 5 minutes. This step is important. Do not be tempted to dive right in. Well you can be tempted but just don't do it. Restrain yourself if necessary.

Now you can dive in with wild abandon. Thank you gifts will be accepted.

    Hints and tips:

Keep in mind to adjust time up and down depending on how you like your steak. I am cooking mine well done. We like ours with no pink, and we also like the edges crisp. So if you don't just shave a couple minutes off the time. If you like it rare shave a few minutes off.

Don't salt too early, I find it pulls the moisture out if you do it too early.

You can marinate but I find with rib steaks it's pretty unnecessary.

Use any barbecue sauce you fancy. We really like the bullseye, I also make my own occasionally.

I mean could you just die right now....this is so good. I have a sudden and urgent craving for steak. You?

    Oh...mama likes!

So much so I ate every flipping scrap. Yup, that's some good eats folks. Now, run, grab steak, now!

    Toodles and smoochies. xx

@Dzoli- So good. I think I might have another couple weeks before snow hits so I might have to use mine a few more times.

@the food dude- Thank you so much!

@Tori- I love me some steak. I think I must have about 8 rib steak recipes here. Can you tell my fave? Lol. I must cheat occasionally. Otherwise the kids would get chuffed.

@Ann- BBQ sauce is about the only way I like my steak. Needless to say we have a zillion different kinds of sauce. Plus I make my own. Overkill I know but you gotta have options. Lol!

@firefoodie- It is so good right. Nothing like cooking outside. I want one of those outdoor brick ovens badly. Hubs keeps rolling his eyes but I must have one.

      @healthyfoodietravels- Thanks so much!

Steak would have to be part of my last meal if I was given a choice. It would have to be a good cut and quality-I have had the ones that curl up into a bowl when you cook them. Good information and tips in this post-now I am ready for steak-yum!

Ok, the fact that you like rib steaks best and don't like sirloin makes the wedding back on. Though I am having to forgive you for not eating it medium rare. but seriously... can we say twindom again? This is getting weird lol.
I want your steak. Bring it to the wedding please. But no chains... not my style.

These look so good. We don't eat steak very often either but when we do, it's special! We serve processed boxed side items with our steak sometimes too. So take that, haters!

Mmm, I don't have steak too often, but sometimes I just crave it. I like how simple your recipe is too. I think steaks always taste best with minimal ingredients! Your steaks came out perfectly!
