    Weekly Meal Plan: Week 18

Another week...another meal plan. This one is fabulous and perfect for planning ahead to Thanksgiving. If you're like me you're already planning ahead for that holiday.

Thanksgiving is one of the best opportunities to make a huge array of food for all your loved ones. It's the time of year where it's socially acceptable to have 15 side dishes on the table.

I tend to go all out on holidays. Thanksgiving is celebrated twice in our household. We're Canadian but we live so close to the American border that we tend to celebrate twice.

It's usually side dish-a-palooza for holidays at my house. Typically I'm not happy unless there's a multitude of choices. I think it comes from having vegetarians in the family.

We usually offer at least two meat options. Then I make multiple potato dishes. I know everyone likes different kinds and has different favourites so I make them all.

I also like making two choices for stuffing. Some people like a more wet stuffing, and some like a more dry stuffing. So I tend to make both so everyone is happy.

Typically I make a couple kinds of carrots too. Roasted carrots are a huge favourite here. So I make a batch with the turkey, then one solo so our vegetarians can partake.

I do that with all our side dishes so I can ensure everyone at the table is happy and full. Making my guests happy is my ultimate goal. It's why I do what I do.

I always take the time to immediately package and freeze leftovers so nothing goes to waste here. Bones get made into broth, all leftovers are packaged and labelled.

Thanksgiving leftovers will feed hubby for weeks after. I make sure I package turkey and ham leftovers so there's enough for sandwiches. Air tight vac seal. Perfection.

One of my favourite things to make with leftover turkey is pot pie. It's so scrumptious. There is nothing quite like homemade pot pies. They are incredible.

So start planning your Thanksgiving dinner now. If for no other reason than you can start planning what to make with all those leftovers. That's reason enough to plan ahead! For real.

Ha, I think I overdo it but people tend to love my need to over-cook. Lol!! You are welcome to stop by any time. I wish we lived closer. I miss having little ones around. I'd be offering to babysit constantly for you. Plus we could bake together. I stink at bar recipes so you could teach me how to make better bars! You rock at that stuff.

Thanks Amanda. And I say let that inner kid out! Ha. I love fruity pebbles, they just make me happy. I'm a sucker for cereal.

I'm a teensy bit jealous that you get two Thanksgivings. The more stuffing the better in my world!

I know right, it's sort of a bit ridiculous but also awesome. Although with new horsey arriving right after we may have to forgo it this year. Hopefully not. I want to get my grub on again.

I know right, those rolls are fabulous. And lol, I actually am one of those people who likes to do it all myself. How silly am I right? I cook for days and love every minute of it. But dishes....oh heck no, that's someone else's problem. Ha ha ha!

Ha, thanks Rose. I could use a best friend in the area who loves food like I do. None of my local buddies are foodies. Drives me crazy. You could likely get my butt back on track to be smaller too. I start working out again this week. My goal is to be running within 3 to 6 months. Used to be a big runner back in the day. Mostly so I could eat more food but still fit in my jeans. ha ha ha
