Summer is all about entertaining, staying cool, and having fun. What a better way to kick off the summer season than with delicious Cherry Limeade Ice Cream Floats.

This recipe was such a riot to make. I love when recipes are vibrant and fun. This one fits the bill.

It's so easy to make. It's also perfect for kids for a fun summer treat.

For this recipe, I used a store bought sparkling cherry limeade drink. Any brand will work. Or you can make your own by mixing together lime juice, any lemon or lemon lime soda, and a bit of grenadine, or maraschino cherry juice.

I used a really good quality vanilla ice cream for this recipe. If you really want to keep the calorie count down use frozen yogurt, sorbet, or a low fat ice cream. Using any of those will keep this a super low calorie treat.

Whip up a batch for yourself or the kiddos today!

We have Sparkling Ice in our new vending machine at the studio, and I swear IT MAKES ME JUMP HIGHER. They are my most favourite long-teaching day treat...

That's so awesome you have it in your vending machines. It's good stuff. I've had so much fun playing with different flavours. I can just imagine you jumping higher and soaring majestically through the air while holding a Sparkling Ice.

These sound absolutely DELICIOUS! And the heat is already here with a vengeance in AZ - I'll have to make these this weekend when we have company over!

Thanks so much Chrisy. I want to come come to Arizona for the big Arabian Horse Shows that you guys are famous for. My friend's parents live there and we've been talking about visiting. She warned me that if we do it's wicked hot. It gets hot here too but nothing like where you live. Right now we're still sort of cool, especially at night. It doesn't usually warm up till end of May, then it hits with full force till September. Ha.

Enjoy if you make them. I'm a sucker for pink drinks and food.

Thanks so much Lora. I'm a pink girl all the way. So funny because my daughter hates pink. I also adore burgundy, the shade closest to a merlot colour. Almost every room in my house has hints of that. It's everywhere.

I can't wait for summer. More sipping, less work, lots of time with the hooligans.

Wish I'd found this post before I finished the last Cherry Limeade Sparkling Ice. Probably won't work the same with the Grapefruit S.I. in the fridge. Will save for next time though. Thanks for sharing!
