    Oreo Ice Cream

Another Sunday, another day to eat ice cream. After a year of doing these Ice Cream Sundays I've sure shared some wonderful recipes with you. Yet I hadn't done an Oreo Ice Cream in my ice cream maker yet.

When I first started blogging I shared one an Oreo Ice Cream recipe that doesn't require an ice cream maker. The photos are horrendous and missing now with the whole google plus incident. But it's there if you want some Oreo Ice Cream and you don't have an ice cream maker. It's a recipe I learned over 30 years ago. From a lady I babysat for. She was kind enough to share it with me. It became one of my Dad's fave things for me to make. He requested it often. It's a great simple way to make Oreo Ice Cream without an ice cream maker.  Now if you do have an ice cream maker this one is the one for you. It's really good and chock full of Oreo goodness. So pull out your ice cream maker and whip up some Oreo Ice Cream for Ice Cream Sundays.

Whew, were you wondering how many times I could say Ice Cream or what? Hold on, there's more!

Next week I'm going to give you a recap of all the ice cream I'm made over the past year for Ice Cream Sundays. I've missed the odd Sunday but I still think it should be an impressive collection of ice cream. I'll share photos and then provide the link to the recipes. That way if you see an ice cream you absolutely love you can just link over to grab the recipe. You'll be all prepped and ready to go for a summer full of Ice Cream Sundays. I know for me it wouldn't be Sunday without ice cream. It's tradition now. We must have ice cream on Ice Cream Sundays.

    Told ya I had more!

Okay so enough of this silliness. I shall stop saying ice cream now I promise. But before I do if you don't have an ice cream maker yet let me just urge you to get an ice cream maker right away. You will not be sorry.  I have not regretted getting my ice cream maker once since the day I bought it. I love my ice cream maker. It makes my life a happy place to be. Fresh ice cream whenever we want it. Ice cream makers rock. Ice cream rolls. And Ice Cream Sundays is heaven in a bowl. Or on a cone. However you want it. Cuz there's no wrong way to eat ice cream. On Ice Cream Sundays.

    Okay NOW I'm done!

Enjoy this Ice Cream! For Ice Cream Sunday!

    Oreo Ice Cream

A wonderful no egg recipe for Oreo Ice Cream, or Cookies n Cream if you prefer!
    Prep Time 20 minutes
    Cook Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour 20 minutes
Servings 5 cups of Ice Cream | Serves 10

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup whole milk
    • 1 cup sugar
    • Pinch vanilla salt
    • 2 cups heavy cream
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 30 Oreo cookies yes that’s a lot! Yes you can use less! But why!

    Instructions

    • In a mixer combine the whole milk, sugar and salt. Whisk until sugar dissolves.
    • Add your heavy cream and vanilla extract and whisk again until well combined.
    • Cover the bowl and pop in your fridge for at least an hour, or overnight.
    • Remove, uncover and transfer to your FROZEN ice cream bowl.
    • Place the bowl on your machine and turn on.
    • Mix for about 10 minutes, just until it starts to thicken a bit.
    • Add crushed Oreos.
    • Mix again for about another 5 minutes or so.
    • You can serve immediately if you like a more soft serve version.
    • Or you can cover it and pop it in the freezer for a couple of hours until it hardens.
    • Just remember to remove it a few minutes before serving so it’s easier to scoop.
    • Serve with a big old Oreo smile!

Now who doesn't love Oreo Ice Cream. On Ice Cream Sundays. I want you to rush right into your kitchen and make this. You will not be sorry. If you don't have an ice cream maker, I urge you to rush right out and buy one. Even a cheap one will do. You'll thank me I promise. Ice cream on Ice Cream Sundays is a tradition worthy of any family. The possibilities are endless. You can even make healthy ones. I'm not sure why you'd want to. But in theory you could.

    Oreo Ice Cream

If you can't afford an ice cream maker but have a blender you can whip up a Thick Oreo Milkshake. So good and so thick you'll need an extra wide straw. But it'll be worth it. You will be doing the happy dance when you taste it. And if you do the happy dance please video it and send it to me so I can post it please. Nothing I like more than laughing at people being silly. Well, except Ice Cream. On Ice Cream Sundays.

    Oreo Ice Cream

Knew I could slip one more in there!

    Toodles and smoochies! xx

I love ice cream and I have two ice cream makers. One is a freezy thing and one is a push button thing. I make oreo ice cream a few times a year. I feel very American when I do. 🙂

That is awesome. I am so tempted to get a second one. This one doesn't match my kitchen. And I'm a girl and like things to match. Lol. Oreo is the bomb and very American. I feel the same way when I make it.

Two of my boys passed through an ice cream phase. Actually, one of them is smack in the middle of it. It think it has something to do with needing calcium so they can grow to be extremely tall. It just happens it's the two tallest boys who had to make milkshakes daily so I think my theory is correct. I always have oreos and vanilla ice cream on hand for this very reason but this recipe would make for a very happy household around here!

Was this just a contest to see how many times you can type ice cream? I count 49 times, not including your pictures. It looks rich and refreshing at the same time!

Love the "Bite Me!" on that photo! 😉 Fun idea. And can one possibly say ice cream too often? Particularly when asking for some? I think not! I haven't made ice cream in quite awhile - and I do have one of those makers where you put part of it in the freezer - so it' really not much trouble. I have to say your ice cream Sundays are really starting to inspire me. The Oreo Ice Cream sounds like a winner (who doesn't like Oreos?). Looking forward to seeing all the great ice creams in your post next week. Are you going to call it the Mother of All Ice Cream Posts? Fun post - thanks for all the ice cream.
