Top 10 of 2012 from Cravings of a Lunatic

I have to say 2012 rocked. Except when it was kicking my ass. Which it did a lot of. But I wouldn't trade any of those lessons learned for anything in the world. You can never grow and learn if you don't have obstacles and challenges in life. Going through the hard stuff makes you appreciate the good stuff more. It also makes you grateful for the little things in life. So any lesson I was taught I am grateful for, it's brought me to the place I need to be. Moving forward, learning, and growing. It's what life is all about. Well, that and chocolate of course.

And let's just say it, there's been a lot of chocolate this year. Lots of turtle recipes. Lots of pizza recipes. And lots of krispie treats. I'm nothing if not a little predictable. But why mess with a good thing. All those things make me happy. I'm a firm believer in finding your happiness in life.

I've learned that blogging makes me happy. I really love the heck out of it. There is nothing I enjoy more than getting in the kitchen to experiment and play with recipes. It gives me so much joy in my life. Meeting new people, making connections with people with a shared passion, feeling like I'm not completely insane for being able to talk about olive oil for an hour. These little perks make this so worthwhile. It's the people who read day in and day out that keep me going, keep me baking and cooking. So thank you to all of you who made 2012 the year I found my passion in life. You are such a big part of this blog and why I love this job so much.

It's funny when you make something, you can never predict what will be a hit with readers and what will not. It's a total mystery to me what makes one thing stand out to you all more than other things. There are posts you all dig that I wasn't sure I should post. There are posts I loved that no one really read. You just never know when it comes to recipes. All I can do is cook what we love and hope you love it too. In 2012 you loved sugar. Lots and lots of sugar. Here's your faves for the year according to google analytics. Enjoy this blast from the past.

Trix Krispies by Cravings of a Lunatic

Trix Krispies- the post I love to hate. Only due to the large number of people who stole the photo!

    Cherry Danish Dessert

Cherry Danish Dessert- I did this as a guest post for Donna at Cookistry!

    Old Fashioned Pink Popcorn

Old Fashioned Pink Popcorn- I have to say I love that you love this one. It's a personal fave of mine too!

    Apple Pies in Jars

Apple Pies in Jars- this recipe was so much fun to do. They freeze so well too!

    Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread

Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread- I loved this bread WAY too much.

    Thick Oreo Milkshake

Thick Oreo Milkshake- this one still surprises me. Although it is dang good!

    Panzerotti aka Deep Fried Pizza

Panzerotti aka Deep Fried Pizza- I love this post. It has step by step pics with mini-me tossing dough and making the panzerotti. So it's a fave of mine as well!

    Mini Meyer Lemon Meringue Tarts

Mini Meyer Lemon Meringue Tarts- loved these. This was part of BDTK where I interviewed Domestic Fits and made her lemon tarts!

    Lasagna Soup

Lasagna Soup - this one is recent and oh so good. If you haven't made it yet you should try this out!

    Lemon IceBox Pie

Lemon IceBox Pie - such a refreshing and easy recipe. Plus it's just cute.

I hope you continue on this crazy ride with me in 2013. I look forward to sharing more recipes and more of my life with you. Thank you all so much for reading and taking time out of your lives to stop in and say hello. It means so much to me that you all dig what I'm up to.

    Happy New Year!

    Toodles and smoochies! xx

Happy new year, my friend! I'm so glad that at some point in time whenever it was, I found your blog. You've given me many laughs as well as some opportunities to pray for your health. Since Hubby suffers from IBS, I have a small inkling of what you've gone through this year and there's been a lot of empathy headed your way from the U.S.'s southern realm. Oh, and as far as that collection above? I'm all about that deep fried pizza. Holy cow. 🙂

Me too lady. The perks of blogging is the friendships we make. I'm happy to have you in my corner. I feel for your hubby too. IBS is a weird illness, so many things about that are hard to explain to people. Always nice to know others out there get it and understand how hard it is.

That pizza is one of my faves cuz mini-me made an appearance in that post.

...What is it about pull apart bread? I shouldn't even bother with a suggested portion. If you don't eat the ENTIRE loaf, you're doing fabulously, I'd say. SO ADDICTING!!!!
