So happy to share this little goodie with you. It was so much fun to make. Even more fun to eat. You know how much I adore all things Turtle. My list of turtle recipes is lengthy. I've made Turtle Bark, Turtle Ice Cream, Turtle Banana Splits, Turtle Ice Cream Pie, Turtle Popcorn, Turtle Popcorn Gone Wild, No Bake Turtle Cheesecake, Turtle Brownies, Turtle Waffles, Turtle Tailgate Mix, and Turtle Apples. I've had guests on the blog take my love of turtles and run with it. Last spring the lovely Kristen of Frugal Antics of a Harried Homemaker whipped up Turtle Sweet Rolls for her guest post. Not only did she make them for the blog but she brought me a batch to Food Blog Forum in Orlando when we met. They were the bomb, Kristen is wicked talented. Izzy from Crumb guest posted for me while I was on the vacation of doom and made a dish that blew my mind completely, Turtle Cheesecake Pizza. I am chomping at the bit to try it. I might whip it up over the holidays. So as you can see I really love Turtles. I've been known to steal boxes of them from my family at Christmas time. I have no shame when turtles are involved.
When Renee mentioned she needed some folks to guest post while she was away I jumped at the chance to offer my services. Oddly I made something completely different originally for her. It was something apple related which I'll post over Christmas instead. But she commented on my turtle apples, and once I knew of her Southern love of pecans and chocolate I knew I had just the thing for her. I was going to be trying out a truffle recipe for Christmas gifts so it just hit me to make them Turtle Truffles. I am so glad I made them. I hope Renee gets to try them out herself. They are so good. There's just something about the combination of chocolate, caramel and pecans. It makes my heart soar.
I encourage you all to stop by Renee's blog to check out my Turtle Truffles. While you're there make sure you say hello to Renee. If you don't already follow her blog, Magnolia Days please take a minute to subscribe. Also follow her on twitter, facebook and pinterest. You will adore Renee. She is such a sweetheart. The nice perk of blogging is you get to meet people like Renee. She's always there with a kind comment and she is incredibly supportive of fellow bloggers. I hope one day I get to meet her in person. I have a feeling she is as down to earth and sweet in person as she is on the blog. I've really enjoyed getting to know her through Sunday Supper. She always impresses me with her amazing recipes. She has a great section on her blog about gardening too. I am a garden addict so I love seeing her flower photos. She also has a wine section, and while I'm not able to drink due to an illness I love learning more about it.
Thank you so much for having me Renee. I appreciate your kindness and friendship. Can't wait to read more about your trip to Germany.
Toodles and smoochies! xx
