These are great for summer on the patio, a fancy little get-together (nothing says fancy like muddled mint, right?), or even just a treat for you and your partner!
How gorgeous are these Wild Blueberry Mojitos? I am in awe. I cannot get over how pretty they are. Almost too pretty to drink. Notice I said almost.
Today I have a very special guest post. Please welcome Lisa of Je suis alimentageuse to Cravings today. Lisa is a fellow Canuck which makes me super de duper happy. I love all my fellow bloggers, but have a special affinity for my Canuck peeps.
I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa this year at a conference. She is just as hilarious and awesome in person as she is on her site, Je suis alimentageuse. I could not be more thrilled to have her here today.
So please give a warm Lunatic welcome to Lisa. You will heart her as much as I do!
Why hello Kim’s awesome readers. My name is Lisa and I’m a fellow Canadian blogger from Je suis alimentageuse. My blog is a food blog about my life and vegan food, and I’m so excited to be here today to share this awesome boozy drink with you. =)
There’s something about those big fat blueberries that taste like sad, watered down blueberry-flavour. BUT, little wild blueberries that are in season right now are nothing like their plump, diluted cousins. I love the little burst of mellow blueberry flavour as I pop one in my mouth one by one (because I’m one of those people that eats things like blueberries and French fries one at a time). Add some lime, mint, and good ol’ rum? That’s my jam.
These are great for summer on the patio, a fancy little get-together (nothing says fancy like muddled mint, right?), or even just a treat for you and your partner. I may have made this for myself on a Friday night. Don’t judge me.
And feel free to add some more blueberries to the mix. There’s nothing quite like booze-soaked fruit to make Fridays a little more fun.
Wild Blueberry Mojitos
Ingredients
- ¼ cup wild blueberries fresh or frozen
- 10 mint leaves + sprigs for garnish
- 2 tablespoons simple syrup
- 2 ounces white rum
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 10 cubes ice
- 4 slices lime for garnish
- Lemon-lime soda to top off the drink
Instructions
- Muddle mint leaves, lime juice, simple syrup, rum, and blueberries in a glass (or cocktail shaker) to release the oil and flavour from the mint into the lime juice and get some of the juices from the blueberries and skin.
- Divide between glasses and pour over ice. Add blueberries, mint, and lime to glasses, and top off with a splash of lemon-lime soda in each glass.
- Recipe makes two tall drinks, but can be divided among 4 short glasses (although I recommend upping the booze for extra fun).

Me too. So pretty right. I just want to stare at the drink all day long.

My favorite beverage is usually one with coffee in it, but I'm also a fan of anything with mint...especially a boozed up sweet tea with mint.
Kim Beaulieu
Very cool choices Brandie.
Brandie
Oh, and this look sooo good!
Kim Beaulieu
Thanks Brandie. I concur, I think Lisa really knocked this out of the park.
Gwen
My favorite beverage is a vodka gimlet - started drinking them on a cruise so they always remind me of vacation.
Kim Beaulieu
That's so cool. I like drinks with a memory attached.

Ooohhh!
I bet there are some AMAZING bevies in those books!
Kim Beaulieu
There sure are. I have a couple of these books, great for when we have company. I'm not a good mixer since I can't partake so it helps me to have recipes. lol
Coco in the Kitchen
Dood, this is brilliant. Mojito is my fav cocktail and my hubby makes it best.
He uses brown sugar, lime juice, Rose's lime concentrate, Persian mint and spiced rum.
I did my own thing with Amaretto and it was so yummy.
But, adding blueberries? That's pure genius.
PS-Miss ya. Can't link to your blogs @ work and by the time I get home, I'm braindead!
xo

Okay that sounds freaking amazing. I may have to ditch my no booze rule for a day to try that.
I bet you're worn out after work, no idea how you do it all woman. One of these days we need to catch up, do a G+ hangout or something. Or you could come to a conference. That would rock.
