I love microwave cake batter fudge. Seriously, I love, love, love it. Like cannot get enough of it. I think it's the perfect candy. It just takes me to my happy place.

What's really cool about fudge is there are so many different varieties of it. You can make it on the stove, you can make it with cream cheese so it's just a case of mixing it in a stand mixer,  and you can even make it in the microwave.

The possibilities are endless with what you can put on top of it as well. You can sprinkle it with sea salt, top it with caramel, or top it with peanut butter cups, or use any kind of tiny candies on top of it or inside of it. I find the endless options fascinating.

Honestly, I love making different fudge recipe for the holidays. Particularly, I love playing with additions, depending on who I am giving the fudge to. It's so much fun.

I get to make a dozen varieties of it and play in the kitchen to my heart's content. Nothing better than playing in the kitchen around the holidays.

    • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
    • ½ cup cold butter cut into pieces

    • Pop in the fridge for an hour to help it set up.

What a great give-away! I use their jars for all of my small batch artesian jams. They end up being less expensive than ball jars and they are much easier to lable.

Thanks lady. It's really good and easy. It just gives it such a nice flavour. I use cake mix for hot fudge sauce too. Lol.

This was amazing. I made it as directed. Then I made it with red velvet cake mix with semi sweet chocolate chips and devils food cake mix with mint chips and 1/2 t. of peppermint extract. My son said we need a safe to lock it up as he was having a hard time leaving it for the gifts it was going with!!!

IS there a way to make this on the stove top? My microwave is pretty high power and seems to cook to fast and just throws stuff everywhere when I try to use it to make stuff like this.

Hi Jessica. I've never done this particular fudge on the stove but in theory you should be able to make it on there no problem. I would use a double boiler and just cook for a bit longer. It would give you more control for sure. Follow the same steps but you'll have to cook it a wee bit longer. Just don't do it over direct heat, a double boiler or makeshift double boiler (pot with water in it then a heat safe bowl over top) is the way to go so you don't scorch it.
