I love game day food. I also really love crafts and easy DIY projects. So when I had the opportunity recently to combine my love of both I was one happy girl.
The kicker was the shopping trip to prep for my game day fun. I hit Target and let's just say I got my happy on. For those who read the blog regularly you know I adore shopping at Target.
You can use the Cartwheel App to get discounts on M&M's and Snickers at Target for your own football themed party. If you have never used the Cartwheel App I highly recommend it.
Being able to hit up one store to buy all the supplies I could possibly need is a dream come true. It's the perfect way to spend an afternoon. I picked up everything I needed for my football party.
I grabbed tons of M&M's, as well as Snickers NFL Minis which are exclusive to Target. Then I picked up all the supplies for the football themed bags. They are SO fun to make.
People love having their own snack bags at parties. They can grab what they want and snack happy to their heart's content. You can mix different things in the bags or do each candy separately.
You can also put out huge jars of candy and let people fill their own Football Themed Snack Bags. I love putting out huge glass jars so people can see what's inside and let them have at it.
Feel free to put out other snack items that compliment M&M's and Snickers. I'm a sweet and salty girl so I usually like to put out potato chips as well. Candy bars and potato chips go together perfectly.
For the Football Themed Snack Bags you will need:
- Snack Bags
- White Washi Tape
- Football Stickers, if available
- M&M's
- Snickers NFL Minis
Instructions for the Football Themed Snack Bags:
- Lay each bag flat.
- Cut washi tape into strips. For each bag you will need one long piece and 3 small pieces.
- Stick long piece vertically in the middle of the front of the bag.
- Stick the shorter pieces next, start by placing the first one horizontally in the middle of the vertical one you placed earlier to form a "t". Then place other two pieces, one below the middle and one above, equal distances apart.
- Open bags.
- Fill with candy.
Everyone loves these Football Themed Snack Bags.

Hi, you had me at cheesecake....I have a question. What is chocolate spread and is marshmallow fluff the same as marshmallow creme. Thank you for your time!

Hi Carla, I just saw this. It went into a different filter. So sorry about that. Happy to help. If I ever take that long to see anything never hesitate to reach out via email at cravingsofalunatic@gmail.com, I check that email daily. Now to answer your questions.
Chocolate spread is just similar to peanut butter. Here's a link to show you what it looks like: http://amzn.to/2lTdA8J
Marshmallow fluff is the same as marshmallow creme. Here's a link to the one I use: http://amzn.to/2kuSZu4

If you can't find chocolate spread you can always substitute with a couple of other options. You can use 4 to 6 ounces of melted chocolate instead of the chocolate spread. I like milk chocolate but you can use any kind you like. You could also substitute cocoa powder for the chocolate spread, I'd use about 3 to 4 teaspoons of good quality cocoa powder.
Hope that helps. Sorry for the delay.
