Hi folks. I wanted to whip up a quick dip for all you football fans out there. I mean just because I hate sports and am boycotting the Superbowl doesn't mean I can't feed you right. Okay so I am not so much "boycotting" as I am "not watching it". But you know same dif right.

So here is another example of me making things I do not eat. Kim does not do dip. Unless it's fruit dip, then I may partake. But veggie and taco dips not so much. I mean it's food....touching. I'd need a therapist after. I can do nachos and cheese. But only if the cheese is just cheese and not tomatoes tossed in or any other weird concoctions most people find "normal". I really was not kidding when I named this blog "lunatic". I have enough food issues to keep 10 therapists in the money and retire them like kings I swear. I whipped this one up for the dudes. While they watch the stupid Superbowl I shall be watching something girlie like "13 going on 30", or "catch and release" or "last of the mohicans". Just sayin'. Sometimes being a girl is just more fun. There may even be nail polish involved. Run for your life dudes. This chick does chick stuff. But eats like a dude. Except taco dip. Cuz that's just all kinds of wrong.

And on that note here's your dip. I mean now that I've made it all sound so magical you must just be chomping at the bit to try it.

Oh before I rattle on about something else that's sure to rile up the dudes, since I don't do dip I had to look one up. I found a good one on Kraft Kitchen but then changed it a little bit. Cuz...you know....I know so much about dip and all.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup miracle whip dressing
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 3 tablespoons taco seasoning mix
    • ½ cup salsa
    • ½ cup shredded medium cheddar cheese

    Instructions

    • Mix your miracle whip, sour cream and taco seasoning in a bowl. I find whisking it works well.
    • Now put that mixture into what you are serving the dip in and fill about ½ way up.
    • Now add your salsa over top.
    • Now sprinkle with cheese.
    • Serve with chips and a big old jersey wearing smile.

*no nails were broken or chipped while making this dip, whew*

I missed FUN WITH JARS FRIDAY this week so thought I would put the dip in jars to make up for it. I did miss a post this week. I apologize since I have been working really hard to be more consistent and post on a regular schedule. We've had a weird week so I got off kilter for a day. Those who follow me on facebook know I am having some issues with my leg, they think it's possibly plantar fascitiis so yesterday was spent getting more Xrays. This was yesterday's adventure as posted on facebook:

    Cravings of a Lunatic
Okay so the Xray went something like this:
Tech- Okay lay on your back, put your right foot behind your head, then take your left leg and turn it to the right while turning your hip to the left, then point your toes up, while also not moving.
Me- Wtf is the matter with you?
    Tech- Why, does that hurt?
    Me- Seriously, are you mental?
    Tech- Okay don't move.
Me- Like I could if I wanted to!
*somewhere there is a youtube video of me floating around getting laughed at across the nation, I am sure of it*

Ya, so the rest of the day was painful and I ordered dinner instead of making what was planned. I also laid on the couch most of the night. I'm not going to lie, I totally enjoyed being a bit lazy for a couple hours.

So hope you all enjoy Superbowl Sunday or as I like to call it "Kim gets the upstairs TV and watches chick flicks all day". The dudes get banished to the dungeon. And have to wear headphones. Cuz I not only don't wanna watch it, I don't wanna hear it either. Booyah! Take that dudes.

    Toodles and smoochies. xx

I laughed when I saw this cuz I was making rice with nuts and dried fruit. I could have never done that a year ago. But I'm with you on sweet/savory combos. I usually like my fruit with other fruit. Not on meat.

Lol, must be a Canuck thing. I honestly generally don't buy mayo or anything resembling mayo so was surprised I even had the ingredients for this one. I hate double dippers. It's just so wrong. I am so excited for Whole Foods I can barely contain myself. Also looking forward to meeting you. This is going to be such a wonderful trip. Meeting people and getting to learn more about blogging from my blog idols, plus getting to go on a much needed trip with the fam. I just get speechless thinking about it.

Thanks, it's probably going to be weeks or months before the foot heals but I shall power through as I always do. I would sleep through it too, in fact that's not a bad idea. Oh and have you seen Daniel Day Lewis in Last of the Mohicans, I consider any movie where I drool on the floor and forget I am married to be a chick flick. Lol!

I like one dip which is a fruit dip. Sad I know. Lucky for me the fam is not as picky as I am. Love knowing there are other weirdos like me with tons of food rules.

Yeah, all the TVs will be blaring here, too! I think I'll be on the computer...waiting for funny commercials...

You are such a good sport...making a delicious dip for the family. Your pickiness would fit right in here...I guess I've married and given birth to lunatics...LOL. You might as well start packing your bags 🙂 xx

You're a better chef than me! If I'm not going, I'm not making 🙂 Fabulous dip, darling! I'll save this recipe for the next Bayern Munich game. Some of us actually prefer watching 'football'...you know, the game you play with your feet!

I love dips. I would like to do a potluck where everyone brings a different dip, and just eat nothing but dips for dinner. This dip looks like a great one to whip up for unexpected guests, the only problem for me is there would never be chips just sitting around. Chips disappear fast around here.
Have a great time in Florida, I'm so jealous! You deserve a break and to meet all of your wonderful foodie friends in person. Enjoy every second!

What a great idea to serve this yummy dip in mason jars. The dip looks so pretty and each person could have their own container and then it would be ok to double dip!

I don't really do dip either, but I do it for when people come over (who enjoy dip)!

Haha, this made me laugh. I am pretty picky but I think you definitely win the title of pickiest eater.

The jars are a great touch.

LOL I own all of the movies you mentioned on DVD I think... But I do love football and dip! Would you die if I told you I had 3 types of dip today. Hahaha so cute in the jars too!

We try to avoid the chips/dip thing...most of the time 🙂 But I will say that individual jars are a great idea for eliminating that double-dipping problem with guests. As for the Superbowl, well I don't really care about sports but considering that a New York team was playing, we were compelled to watch...and celebrate when they won! Congrats on the Top 9.

I love nachos and dips ~ And i think it's a great idea to have individual jars for guests, I have an issue with double dipping with people that I don't know or aren't close to ~ Thanks for sharing the recipe ~

Who needs dishes and glasses when you have jars! I could have saved a lot of money as I am a dish junky. Your dip sounds great and I love the idea of serving it in a jar. Great idea and I will have to make a trip to the hardware store for jars and I am not even a guy! Have you ever done chili in a jar and baked cornbread on top. TFS
