Weekly Meal Plan Week 25 - 10 great bloggers bringing you a full week of recipes including dinner, sides dishes, and desserts!
Happy New Year's everyone and welcome to our weekly meal plan week 25.
I hope you had an amazing New Year's Eve. One filled with family, friends, and lots of great food. I'm sure there were beverages involved, hopefully everyone had a designated driver. SO important if you're out painting the town red on special days.
We stayed home on New Year's Eve. In fact we stayed home on New Year's Day too. I'll be honest with you, I kicked off the new year by vegging in my jammies on the couch. I was pretty much horizontal for two full days. There's been some movie watching, and some The Walking Dead watching too.
Before you think I'm a totally lazy slob, I do have a good reason for all that lazy behaviour. My son was here for 2 weeks for the holidays, and his girlfriend flew in for 4 days at the end. So we've been whooping it up and going full steam ahead for 2 solid weeks. It's been go, go, go.
They flew back to Calgary on New Year's Eve, around dinner time. Before they left I made prime rib with all the fixings so we could have one last great meal with them. There was so much food in my belly I pretty passed out when they left to head back to their part of Canada.
It was two solid weeks of staying up late to hang out then sneak in some work before bed each night. Two solid weeks of getting up early so I could hit the shower first, then make sure everyone was up and at 'em every day. Two solid weeks of cooking and baking up a storm.
I was bloody exhausted by the time they left. I was in dire need of some downtime. So I grabbed my favourite jammies, my favourite blankie, my favourite pillows, and hunkered down on the couch for two solid days. It was absolutely delightful. Sometimes you just need to chill.
2016 will be the year of productivity. But first I need some rest and relaxation because I did not get any of that during the holidays. There was absolutely no down time for us during the holidays. So I'm taking it now. I'll be off work until Thursday, January 7. Yeah me!
I have a bunch of giveaway posts going up this week so keep your eyes peeled for them. In the meantime, Happy New Year! Make 2016 the year of meal planning. It helps you save money and time. That's a wonderful thing if you ask me. We could all use more time and money!
