Most of all I love Snickers Bars. If we have any Snickers in the house they never last long. It’s one of my favourite chocolate bars. Since I was young. So I’ve loved them for a LONG time.
So when I was baking the other day I decided to make homemade Snickers Bars. I was on a serious cheesecake kick so I knew I wanted to make the filling with a touch of cream cheese. So I did.
The result is an amazingly rich and over the top dessert. It is so tasty you are not going to be able to resist it.
They are messy so go into making them knowing that. Anyone who makes these and is able to cut them perfectly must have frozen theirs completely. If you don’t cut them while frozen it results in a total mess.
My suggestion is to score them while not quite frozen, then cut them with a warm, sharp knife once they are frozen. That way you get perfect bars. Keep frozen until a bit before you want to serve them. Then pop them in the fridge to keep them cold so they don’t get overly soft.
I love these bars and I hope you do too. You can find the recipe for these Snickers Cheesecake Bars over at Real Housemoms. I’m a contributor there so this is my November recipe. Be sure to peek around while you’re there. There are so many amazing ideas over there.
These are a riff on my friend Roxana’s Homemade Snickers Bar Recipe. She made Homemade Snickers Bars for Imperial Sugar some time ago an I just fell in love with her photos. So I knew at some point I would be trying her recipe. Roxana is seriously talented in the kitchen. If you on’t follow her blog, Roxana’s Home Baking, you should start. Asap!
See you tomorrow, I’ll finally be sharing my Trix Ice Cream Cake I made back in August when my son was here. I cannot believe how long it took me to get that ready to post. Hopefully it’s worth the wait.
Monday I’ll be sharing my recipe for Chocolate Hot Cross Buns. You’re going to flip your lid over these gorgeous buns.
Toodles and smoochies! xx
