Easy to make Cocoa Pebble Krispies with a Nutella Ganache over top, then sprinkles over that for fun. Perfect for kids parties or just for a fun weekend snack. Anyone can make these!
Hi folks!
Okay, okay, I may have lost my mind with cereal goodies the past couple of weeks. We have a family member who has kindly been picking up cereal in the states for us. So, thanks to Tricia, this weekend is all about cereal desserts. I may have lost my mind. Which is nothing new really.
The funny thing is I don't even like cereal for breakfast!
But I love baking with it!
Yup, it's a mystery!
Just like me !!!
So this is for Tricia, who supplies me with lovely cereal and Wild Cherry Pepsi!
The frosting/topping recipe is from Hidden Ponies. She guest posted for me last month and shared her Nutella Rice Krispie Squares.
So, I suppose we can blame Anna for my new obsession with cereal treats. Thanks Anna!
I had never tried topping mine like she did so I just had to give it a whirl. Totally worth it!
I have no idea why anyone does them without a topping on them to be quite honest. You should be ashamed of yourselves if you're not topping them with delicious goodness.
Okay so I actually have a couple more cereal packed recipes for you this weekend. I sure hope you like them.
I promise next week I'll try to post a salad recipe, maybe two for good measure. I just got carried away experimenting.
You remember the popcorn incident and the turtles obsession. I mean seriously they both have their own categories in my recipe index. Go look for yourself!
If you search you will see turtle recipes has a category all by itself. And if you check you will find popcorn recipes as well. This is coming from the lady who has ice cream recipes category too.
Clearly I have issues. They all seem to be about sugar. I'm not sure what that says about me. But then I'm lucky enough not to care, so there you go.
So take a bite out of life this weekend. Enjoy yourselves, let your hair down a little. And make these yummy Cocoa Pebble Krispies. You will thank me on Monday, I promise.

Cocoa Pebbles Krispies
Ingredients
For the Krispies portion:
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 14 oz marshmallows
- 11 oz Cocoa Pebbles cereal
For the Topping portion:
- 1 cup Nutella
- 1 cup milk chocolate chopped up
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
For the Krispie portion:
- In a LARGE microwaveable bowl, combine butter and marshmallows and cook for about 3 minutes. Check it every 60 seconds or so. Every microwave is a bit different.
- Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the mixture until smooth.
- Pour the cereal into the same large bowl.
- Mix until well combined.
- Pour into a greased 8 x 8 inch pan. Or you can use a 9 x 13 inch pan. The thickness of your krispies will be determined by the size of the pan you choose.
- Smooth out with a spoon. A good tip is to spray you spoon with non stick spray. That way you can smooth the krispies without the mixture sticking the spoon. It’s a cool trick I use all the time.
- Set aside to cool.
For the Topping portion:
- Combine all the ingredients in a glass microwavable bowl.
- Pop it in the microwave and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes, checking it every 15 to 30 seconds.
- Stir until smooth.
- Pour over top of the krispies.
- Let cool a tiny bit.
- Then toss some cute little sprinkles over top.
- Serve with a big old “this is how we eat cereal” smile!

My sweet tooth is seriously going into overdrive. Yum, used to loooove Cocoa Crispies when I was a kid. And I probably still love them, but unfortunately don't have a US-cereal dealer like you do!
Kim Bee
Thanks, we must find you a supplier stat.
David
Have you tried ebay or amazon ?? I buy sodas that are no longer available in US that are still available in other countries
Ramona
Now that's how I want to eat Cocoa Crispies!! What a terrific idea. 🙂
Kim Bee
Thanks. These were so much fun.
Tina@flourtrader
After seeing in this, why would we ever want cocoa krispies in a bowl with milk! Creative and delicious way to have your cereal. This is a winner in my book-yummilicious Kim!
Kim Bee
Thanks so much Tina. I am having far too much fun with cereal right now.
Bee (Quarter Life Crisis Cuisine)
Hehe! So cute! I think I'd prefer these to the Trix ones... but I'm kinda a chocoholic 😉
Kim Bee
Me too. I love chocolate almost as much as pepsi.
Lyn @LovelyPantry
Forget the kids! Cocoa Pebbles Krispies are for Lyn! There, I said it.
Kim Bee
You go girl. I say put the kids in front of a movie so they're distracted and you get to eat them all.
Joanne @ Fifteen Spatulas
You know, I try not to eat them (lol) but I LOVE cocoa pebbles...and I love how they turn all the milk chocolate-y. Making rice krispies out of them is brilliant!
Kim Bee
Lol, I love it. Chocolatey milk is awesome. Or just eating cereal with chocolate milk to start. Thanks, I am having way too much fun with cereal lately.
Jessica Fuller
Yes! This is the perfect post for me today! My kids were driving me nuts asking me to make rice krispie treats and I was thinking, man, I wish I had a good recipe for something a little different. And now I do!! Can't wait to try them out!
Kim Bee
Oh you gotta try this one. The trix one is super fun too. Let me know how they turn out.
Valerie @ From Valerie's Kitchen
These would be hugely popular with teenagers. Perfect to bring to a swim meet or other sporting event. Love the cereal posts - keep 'em coming!
Kim Bee
Thanks Valerie. Kids love them. Adults love them. Lunatics love them.
Ann
Those look absolutely drool-worthy! BRAVO, girlfriend!
Kim Bee
Thanks my dear. I have to say I've been dying to post them. Cross fingers tomorrows post works out. It was a bust on first attempt. So excited to see if I can get it to come together tonight.

I'm surprised that big brand US cereals aren't available in Canada. I sort of thought those manufacturers were going for worldwide domination. I guess I'm spoiled, having grown up with all these cereals and cereal treats, I've kind of lost my cravings for them...although they do taste good when I run into them. 🙂 Next time (hopefully there won't be one), post about the photo theft on the bloggers network. We've been going after thieves with a vengeance!
Kim Bee
Thanks doll. You must appreciate the cereal cuz man the cereal in Canada sucks big time. I can't wait to start shopping over in the states. Hubs second pay check from his new job is going over there with me. I don't think it'll be making it back.
I need to hop on there. I've been so crazed since hubs started working out of town. Maybe I'll pop on there this weekend. I have some sites you guys should be watching out for.
Colleen, The Smart Cookie Cook
I LOVE COCOA PEBBLES. And my god, there's nutella on these things too! I sort love you right now...
Kim Bee
I know right. Cocoa pebbles and nutella together. It's like heaven. I love you right back.
Anna @ hiddenponies
These look amazing! I'm totally a cereal-in-baking, not-in-a-bowl sort too. And I need to start watermarking my pictures, thanks for the reminder!

Kim Bee

Emily Lynne / The Best of this Life
Those look wildly indulgent! My hubby is insane for cereal and even wanted to open a cereal bar 🙂 He would go nuts for these - birthday cake?!
Kim Bee
My hubs and your hubs should team up. Mine loves cereal beyond all reasoning. And darling come back tomorrow. I have something you're gonna love. Kismet?!
Katie {Epicurean Mom}
These are gorgeous Kim!! I always want to make recipes but never get around to it, but I'm definitely making these!!!!!
Kim Bee
Your girls will love these. I bet you could do a healthier version with a whole grain cereal.
Stephanie @ Eat. Drink. Love.
Oh man, my husband would go NUTS over these!! I'm going to have to give them a try for him one day!
Kim Bee
He will love them. I ate way too many.
Hester @ Alchemy in the Kitchen
Kim, your photos are gorgeous, no wonder they are being copied! Although it is really annoying when it is done without permission - I've spotted one of mine recently on someone else's site too. Grrrrr. I can understand how you feel. Anyway, gorgeous recipe and I'm going to make this with my Nutella-addicted niece.
Kim Bee
Aw, thanks my dear. Let me know if she likes it. So sorry about your photo. It's such a nightmare. Let me know if you need any backup having it removed. xx
Parsley Sage
Yeeeeeees! Now this is one I can really get behind, LOVE ME some cocoa pebbles!
Kim Bee
Yah, you must make this. xx
Debra Kapellakis
I made these krispies without the frosting years ago. I thought I was so clever but my kids didn't like them. (I ate them all by myself.) I wonder if they will like them served with the nutella/chocolate frosting and fun sprinkles?
Kim Bee
Oh no. That's not good. You must try them frosted. Makes such a difference.
Anthony
Absolutely love it. Reminds me of childhood birthday parties.
Kim Bee
I love hearing that. That makes me so happy.
