Make your party score with these 9 sweet and savory tailgating recipes: Delicious appetizer recipes, breads, and, of course, dessert!
Sundays are football food lately on the blog. We've kicked off an 8 week series of tailgating round ups for you. It's sure to be a hit. So bookmark Sunday for Tailgating Time.
The only downside to that is I would be posting twice a day on Saturdays. I'm not sure if readers dig that or not. Maybe you love it or maybe it annoys it. Feel free to weigh in on that.
I've been relaxing on and off this weekend. After a minor eye surgery I know I need to limit my computer time. So I've been doing a lot of cleaning. I know right. So weird.
For some reason codeine has a weird effect on me. It runs in my family. My dad's side of the family all have adverse reactions to some medications.
So I took some the first day after I got home from the hospital. I completely forgot about my weird reaction to it since it had been awhile since I've taken it.
I slept for about an hour, then woke up wired and ready to run a marathon. Only I looked like someone had punched me in the eye. For real.
After getting up I decided to run a few errands with the hooligan. Nothing like people staring at you because you look like you got in a bar brawl.
Then we came home and my daughter headed off for weekend training. I proceeded to clean the house....for about 6 hours. I was like the Tasmanian Devil. With a dust rag.
I spun around the house at lightning speed, cleaning and dusting everything in my path. Then I went downstairs and did mountains of laundry.
If that wasn't enough I decided to pull apart our overflowing downstairs fridge. You know we all have one of those second fridges. The one you throw everything in. Then forget about it.
I tore that sucker apart and threw out everything that wasn't fresh. I pulled every single thing out of it and scrubbed it till it glistened. I could see my reflection. Even my bad eye.
Then I almost passed out. Hubs had come home from a 12 hour shift, totally tired and worn out. He took one look at my face, gasped, then helped me finish cleaning out the fridge.
So our fridge is sparkling and ready to be over-run by leftovers again. Our marriage is on solid ground, for today, because he had the good sense not to tell me how heinous my eye looked.
All in all it was a good day. I was exhausted by the end of it, almost took another tylenol 3, then thought better of it. I'll take one in the morning so I clean out my closets instead. Score!
Now onto the tailgating food. You know you're ready for it. Football food never makes it into that fridge of shame. It's just too good to ever have leftovers.
