How to Throw a Killer Walking Dead Party! A collection of recipes we like to call Dead Eats: Recipes Inspired by The Walking Dead!

Menu Plan for a Killer Walking Dead Party

The event is hosted by myself and Dionne of Try Anything Once. We thought it would be fun to throw a fun event where we can bond over our obsession with all things Walking Dead.

I am so FREAKING excited. I love The Walking Dead way too much.

Today I'm sharing my menu plan for this event. How to Throw a Killer Walking Dead Party. Just in time for the new season of TWD and also in time for Halloween.

I mean who doesn't host huge Walking Dead parties for Halloween. Our week long event will supply you with tons of party menu ideas. We hope it inspires you.

Honestly, I have so many recipe ideas swirling around my brain. There are so many cool food references in the show that provide such great recipe inspiration.

So sit back and enjoy the ride. We hope this week thrills you, chills you and fills you. Now, get your creepy litte grub on and dig into all the recipes we have planned for you.

Tune in each day this week for new recipes. They'll be in random order and I'll provide links to each one in every post as the week goes on. That way I make it as easy as possible for you to click around to get all the recipes you want.

Be sure to visit Dionne's post about her spin on Carol's Cookies too. I'm so excited she joined me to do this one week event. Dionne is the nicest person on the face of the planet and I heart her almost as much as I heart Daryl Dixon.

    Maybe more.

I know you're not going to believe this, but I've never seen the show - not a single episode! I know people love it, tho! The cookies look amazing and the milk spill?....Fantastic! I can't wait to see the rest!

You have to try and watch. I hated it initially, the first few episodes were too much for me. But glad I stuck it out.

Thanks. I had way too much shooting this. It was a riot.

Oh my gosh - best event ever! If you do it again (and wouldn't mind another huge TWD fan), count me in! Hmmm favorite character, huh? SO hard because I love so many of them. Daryl is always tops on my list, but I love Glenn and Rick, too. And Michonne and Carol. And I miss T-Dog. Hmmm, does that answer qualify me?

I would love for you to join us. That would be awesome. We're going at it again in February.

I love Daryl the most. But I'm a huge Carol and Michonne fan too. Strong women, always a good thing. Rick used to annoy me but I like him better now. I like his playful banter with Michonne, it makes him more relatable somehow.

        Your answer totally qualifies you.

Since you're a fan can I just say they really missed the boat on making Andrea a strong female lead. She was heading in that direction when Shane was training her. Then she wimps out by sleeping with The Governor instead of being a friend and going off with Michonne. I wish the writers would have really kept her going in the direction of badass instead of just another girl who dumps her friend for some guy. So disappointing.

I'm also so glad they didn't hook Daryl up with Beth. Holy age difference. I think she played a 17 year old. Ick.

I about flipped out on Sunday. When Mrs Pasta Maker was outside smoking and Carol was watching. Holy mofo, I about fell off my couch. I was twisting and turning and yelling and screaming through the whole episode. Brutal.

Well thank goodness Daryl is just too decent to hook up with a little girl. And yeah, I was not an Andrea fan to begin with, and the whole Governer thing just sealed the deal for me. I guess in the sea of strong women, they have to put a few flounderers in there.

Oh my gosh - YES! Sunday's episode was non-stop. I love that Carol finally had to drop the Suzy Homemaker act and go full-on badass again (as opposed to badass in disguise).

Yes, if you guys will have me, then totally count me in for February - I have ideas already! 🙂

I know nothing about this series, but would love to see it. This would be a great way to do it! I just read your "about me" section and found that we have many similar characteristics. Only I love raw tomatoes, but hate Ketchup! It is nice to know someone else that likes to cook alone!

Good luck Karen, you will love the series. It's so amazing. I hated it initially but stuck out the first few episodes and got totally hooked. It's so good.

Ha, I really should update my about page sometime. But yeah, I'm a weirdo. I have way too many strange food hangups for a food blogger. It's an odd thing. I wish I liked to cook with people, but I think I just get so in the zone and don't like getting distracted. I do love cooking with the kids though. We made some fabulous burgers when my son visited us in August. And my daughter is the best pizza maker in the family. She rocks at tossing the dough.

Collectively.....The Zombies are my fave. Great plot, good dialogue, easy on the eyes cast....but hey, it's that group of zoms that keep me comin' back for more!

I love that answer Jan. Some of them are so creepy. The dude whose eyeball popped out in the fence, or the one by the tree with the moss growing up him, or the one whose skin comes off as he attacks Tara. It's so wild how they all look so different. I think my favourite is the one who grabs Dale. He's been in a few episodes as various walkers. It's pretty cool how they can make him look so different for all the episodes he's in.

You are so right, most of them are quite easy on the eyes. Cripes, I don't look that good with makeup and a blowdryer. These people rock the grunge look well.

I always laugh when people talk about the characters hooking up. I mean who would be thinking about sex when they haven't showered in months. The stench alone would be enough to kill any moment, not to mention impending walker bites if one sneaks up when you're in the moment. Just cracks me up. I always crack up when that happens on Survivor too. I'd need a clothespin for my nose first. Ha

How do you choose a favourite?! We've seen Carol grow from a meek, abused housewife to a headstrong, confident woman. Michonne is like the voice of kick-ass reason. Daryl is a cross-bow-bearing lovable country boy. Glenn is a nerdy and adorable guy in love with the biggest heart... I mean, HOW DO YOU CHOOSE?!

I love this TWD party Kim! Carol's cookies? Awesome. You rock.

I love Carol, she's such a badass. And Michonne is just the most amazing character. I hope they never kill Glenn off, any time I see a baseball bat I about pass out. No, no, no, no, no. Not Glenn, never kill Glenn. The show wouldn't be the same without him. I'm just loving Morgan and really hope they keep him around. The peanut butter thing cracked me up last week. Way too funny.

You have to join us next time. We're having any blogger who wants to join hop in for Walking Dead Day on February 14th. It's the midseason premiere. How sad that I know that.

Who is my favorite? That's rough... so many good people killed off. (So many annoying ones, too...) I think Maggie is my fave.

Ha, so true. There were some I was happy to see go and others not so much. I hope they never kill off Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Carol or Glenn. Anyone else I can live with but those ones would kill me. Although I must admit I'm becoming a pretty big Morgan fan.

My favorite is probably Morgan. I liked his charachter when he and Rick forst me, when they encountered each other again in Morgans 'town, and now on season6 he is even much more complicated. I llike all of the charactrers though and have watched since the beginning.

I really love Morgan too. He made such an impact in season one they just had to keep him coming back. There's just something about the way him and Rick play off each other. I know in season one when he couldn't put his wife out of her misery my heart just broke for the guy. I can't imagine living in that world and having to make those kinds of choices. It would be pure hell.
