Strawberry season is always my favourite time of the year. This girl loves making easy strawberry recipes.

I cannot help myself. I absolutely LOVE making parfaits!! Almost as much as I LOVE strawberries!
Growing up, we had a strawberry patch in our backyard. I know, right!!
Who the heck has a strawberry patch in their backyard?
We did and I freaking loved it!
My brothers and I would sneak out there while my Dad was at work and we would gobble up as many fresh strawberries as we could.
Every day my Dad would come home from work and complain about his crappy strawberry growing skills. We would laugh and think we were SO smart.
Looking back on it years later I’m sure my Dad knew us kids were out there in the sun every day gobbling up all his precious strawberries.
We were horrible kids, I know. We always had fun though.
Every summer was spent swimming in our above ground pool and eating up all my Dad’s strawberries. I have such great memories of my childhood.
It wasn’t always perfect but time tends to make the harsher memories fade away. It makes room for the sweeter memories to become more prominent and I’m totally okay with that.
Life should be filled with sweet memories and even sweeter strawberries!

Hi, I was excited to make your strawberry shortcake mini cheesecake shooters for my daughters baby shower. The Duncan Hines strawberry shortcake frosting creations is no longer available. Can you suggest a substitution?

Hi Debra. I’m so bummed to hear they aren’t available any more.
You could try a few different things. You could pick up a strawberry cake mix and use a little bit of the dry cake mix in the mixture. Or you could use a wee bit of strawberry jam. Both would give you a similar flavor. You could also consider strawberry extract, syrup or oil. I’ll drop some affiliate links to products you could try. If I was making them again I’d lean towards the dry cake mix or the extract.
